The menu had too many good options and I wish I could come here all the time to get through the entire menu. During this trip, we tried the ube milk and the mango yuzu black tea. Both with boba of course. The ube milk was made with real ube so it was starchy like a potato, thick like a watered down milk shake, and really delicious. It wasn't sweet to me, it felt like a dessert vs a drink. The real winner was the mango yuzu black tea. It was also made with real mango fruit puree and tasted like a mango fruit leather. Bursting with flavor from the mango and had a zing from the yuzu, it was the perfect drink for the warmer weather outside. The boba was also so soft and chewy. This was a true boba place. And it was literally ran by one guy. If I lived in DC, this would be my go to boba drink place for sure.

Bubbles were great, tea was unpleasant. I’m picky about my matcha, and this was not it.

Loved this spot at the market! We grabbed multiple tea options in are few days of visiting town. Would love to have a place like this closer to home.

The vibes and service are great but the milk tea did not taste like tea at all. It was a very bad drink in general. The strawberry matcha my friend got however was amazing.

After sampling half of their menu over the last year, I can finally say that Spot of Tea has officially solidified its spot as my go-to boba spot in DC. This humble little stall tucked in the back of Union Market has it all -- a delicious and perfectly crafted menu, friendly and efficient service, and simple yet adorable decor that creates a calming space in the middle of Union Market's bustle. They have a great selection of teas that includes both classic favorites like Thai tea or your basic milk tea, but also a smattering of exciting new flavors / seasonal specials like mango hibiscus or calamansi ginger. If you're anything like me and struggle to make even the most basic of decisions, their menu also features decision guides, listing out caffeine levels, flavor profiles, and a one-line "why you should pick this drink" for quickly comparing between different options. Regardless of which drink you choose, Spot of Tea is sure to satisfy any craving, whether it's for something rich and milky, fruity and refreshing, or just straight-up caffeine. It'll also include some of DC's best boba pearls, with the perfect chewy, QQ texture (or lychee jelly if you'd prefer). I also love that they default to using oat milk for all their drinks at no extra charge, although you can request a switch to dairy milk if you'd prefer. While it's hard to pick a favorite from their phenomenal menu, a few stand-outs are: - Mango Hibiscus (great for cooling down on a hot summer day) - Mango Yuzu Black Tea (great for cooling down on a hot summer day...but also with caffeine) - Hot Black Sesame Latte (who needs hot chocolate when you can have a rich, piping hot cup of black sesame latte / milk?) In addition to their teas, they also create a delicious oat milk soft serve. You can either get matcha, black sesame, or a swirl of the two flavors -- my personal preference is always the swirl, but both flavors are great on their own as well. You would never guess its dairy-free from how rich and creamy it is, and their ice cream is the perfect level of sweetness, with the slightly bitter matcha and nutty sesame seeds breaking through the sugar. All in all, I truly can't recommend Spot of Tea enough -- absolutely swing by to give their teas and soft serve a shot!

I would drive 20 minutes to get their Matcha, but they apparently changed their recipe and now it’s not the same at all which is really disappointing since I’ve been a fan for 4+ years. Now their Matcha taste exactly like Starbucks. This might be a good thing for some but their old way was much better and the drink taste seemed to be more authentic and smooth.

spot of tea is great - nice teas, default half sweet with oat milk, this location is no different. Order yourself on the screen and it's ready in minutes.

I tried a boba tea from Spot of Tea for the first time and loved it; It was very refreshing. also loved their customer service. The cashier realized it was my first time so she asked if she could help me choose the right tea.I highly recommend this is place if you enjoy iced tea.

Of course I'd like a spot of boba tea! That's way better than a spot of regular tea If you ask me. And obviously if I'm going for a taro tea which here just so happens to have a little extra spin to it being a vanilla taro boba tea! Now I've never had taro anything that I didn't like but this one was so finely crafted with a, dare I say, pretty aesthetic and it was "bottomed off" with some seriously addictive brown sugar boba. The boba added a touch of sweetness to my lightly sweetened tea - yes I said lightly sweetened because they actually give a sweetness option here, it's a factor that cannot be overlooked for me because I've always had to moderate my taro tea consumption due to high sugar content but this location is changing the game with healthier options. I've never been hooked on coffee but I could certainly imagine a very involved long term relationship with this healthy boba tea. The servers had a great welcoming attitude and were eager to help describe/explain the flavors and the different options (including lactose free substituting for oat milk.) Next time, I'm very excited to try out the black sesame latte or taro's cousin - the ube latte! No photos because I inhaled the latte and it was gone in two blinks - this is the best boba spot for me due to healthy/quality and an impressive variety of unique flavors.

A gem in a great food hall with various choices! This is my boyfriend's new favorite boba spot because they have Ube Vanilla Milk Tea w/Boba. It was a game changer for him since not many places offer that combo. My Milk Tea was also great and the boba was cooked perfectly. Definitely a great spot to get your boba fix!

Took a few minutes to get a drink. My father really didn't like his drink, so I tried it and it had a weird after taste. I believe it was the blue jasmine.Wheelchair accessibility: Same thing for the rest of the place. Easy to get in and out of.
