Ate dinner at the wine bar. The food ( three mains and three apps) were all interesting and delicious. Your inclusion of. 20% gratuity is puzzling at best. The only service we received was the wine being brought to our table ( no taste, no pour, no “is it, ok?” The same thing with the food. Everything was brought to the table at once. Deposited and that was the last we saw of and heard from the person who delivered it. I not sure what I paid 20% gratuity for.

Great place!! The atmosphere was charming and the food was great! The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and provided great customer service.

This was an ok place for food. Pasta was pretty high quality, especially the truffle Mac and cheese. However, the service has something to be desired. Not only is there a mandatory 20% gratuity on a party of any size (while still asking for a tip), you have to order on your phone and the pitcher of water is left at the table. They compel you to tip while providing half the service. Might as well have gotten take out. Will not be dining here again.

Man, this place was such a disappointment. Vegetarians and vegans beware!

I was excited about the supposedly heated patio, but then found that a) no heaters were on, even though we were freezing, and b) the "garden" area was entirely enclosed in a plastic tent, defeating the purpose in terms of fresh air and/or Covid safety.

As a vegetarian, I was horrified to be told only *after* I'd started eating the crispy potatoes that they were fried in the same oil as meat! I knew to ask about this for the french fries, but these looked like they might be broiled or sautéed so I didn't suspect. :((( They did take it off my tab, to their credit, but I was pretty mortified, having not eaten anything non-vegetarian in decades, because I love animals. : ( We were told that they have two friers but make no effort to keep meat and vegetables separate, so everything fried is not vegetarian. :(

And there were so few veg options! Vegans, don't even bother, because most of these few options were some form of cheese, often fried. I ended up just being able to eat the dates: 6 tiny grape-sized dates for a total of $19 with tax and tip.

You don't get a normal menu and waiter, you have to scan a QR code and place an order on your phone, which is awkward when you're sitting down and trying to start a conversation with your table. Then our server who brought out the food was really rude and dismissive, and acted like any small request was a giant hassle. He repeatedly walked away from us and disappeared while we were trying to ask him a question.

Between the unlit heaters, the very non-veg-friendly menu, and the rude staff, we felt unwelcome and left as soon as we could. I'm sorry I can't recommend this place.

They have fun/ different wine. I love the patio and could sit there drinking all day. The truffle mac was delightful.

Great live music, cool atmosphere, friendly crowd and staff, and a great wine selection. Quiet and nice for conversations when the band isn't playing.

The food is good and it arrives quickly, but I'm more used to having a waiter than relying on just a QR code for ordering (it's just my preference). The seating was also a bit uncomfortable for eating ..it was too low for the tables.

We attended an event at this restaurant and drove an hour with our two kids, excited to celebrate this joyful occasion with friends. From the moment we arrived, the general manager’s attitude was shockingly rude. Our friends had specifically chosen this place because they were told it was a kid-friendly establishment. It was anything but.

We were seated outside, but no matter where our kids went, the general manager would sternly tell us, “They can’t be here,” or “They can’t be there.” Trying to be respectful, we asked where the kids *could* go, and her response stunned us: “Well, nowhere really, we are not a kid-friendly establishment,” before walking away without offering any solutions. She even claimed that the owner would have given us the same response.

It’s incredibly frustrating that a restaurant would claim to be kid-friendly when it’s clearly not. If that’s the way you operate, please be transparent and upfront about it. For families with children, I would highly recommend avoiding this place. This experience really put a damper on what should have been a joyful celebration.

Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in any restaurant/bar anywhere. It’s a super cool space that will transport you back to the 1920s golden age of jazz. The ambiance is off the charts inside and out with a super cool moody interior bar and a beautiful patio area. Charcuterie board was excellent. Wine was excellent. It’s pricey and they tack on all the fees but it’s DC - what do you expect? You get a lot of quality food and music for your money.

Great experience! Love the ordering system and comes right to the table. Staff is friendly. It was Jazz night and we sat on upper deck which was really enjoyable.

Food and atmosphere is good. But having a QR code required for ordering (which doesn’t work very well) and a 20% mandatory service fee is annoying. Raise your prices (by 20%+ it’s fine!) pay your staff right, and be honest with your customers.

To be clear, it’s not a question of paying your staff or not (and prices are reasonable so far as DC standards - and would still be if you raised them). It’s a question of price transparency. If something cost ten dollar, raise it to twelve, itemize after-the-fact (break out the service fee at the end if need be for internal budgeting and tip signaling). This is common practice in much of the world and reduces feelings of false advertising and personalized service expectations. While price in-transparency may be a good short term strategy, it annoys customers will certainly hurt you in the run — note the prior negative all seem to touch on similar concerns.

Absolutely terrible service with a 20% service fee. The only thing that this place has going for it was the vibe. Would not go back.

Amazing vibes and scene. Brunch was fabulous and delicious. I love the online order and pay system. I do which the mimosas was slightly more affordable. The regular cocktails are strong, good and worth the price.

I recently stumbled upon St. Vincent, a black-owned restaurant, through Instagram and decided to give it a try for brunch. The location can be a bit tricky to find, as the building’s dark color blends in, but once you step inside, the atmosphere will blow you away. Our host was fantastic, especially after we mentioned it was our first time there. She made us feel welcome and guided us through the options.

The restaurant offers the choice to dine upstairs or outside, where you can enjoy live jazz music. Given the beautiful sunny day, we opted for the outdoor seating, which was charming with both high-top tables and regular seating available.

One unique feature is that you order your food via a QR code, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food arrived—it felt like it was there in the blink of an eye, which was great because I was starving.

The menu was diverse, with a lot of items I hadn’t seen at other brunch spots. I decided to go with the chicken and waffles, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The chicken lacked seasoning, and the waffle was a bit too crunchy for my taste. On the upside, we also ordered the pastry basket, which was a hit. The banana bread, biscuit with jam, and sweet butter were all delicious, and the cinnamon donuts with chocolate icing were a perfect sweet treat.

Overall, while I wasn’t impressed with the chicken and waffles, the aesthetics, live music, and excellent customer service might just tempt me to return. On a scale of one to ten, I’d rate this experience a six.
