I come here all the time in the evening before class and the staff is amazing, they greet me by name and tell me to have a good day. I think if you really want to get the best Starbucks experience you should honestly come by when the closing staff is present, those guys are so positive. I see some of these other reviews and some of you guys are just being babies, why would anyone in their right mind want to spend ALL of their time in the lobby exactly At closing time? you came in ,did what you needed to do or bought what you needed to buy, now go home. Don’t give these guys such a hard time. Believe me respect goes both ways, it is not a one way street. At the end of the day everyone does have to go home eventually. Fussing with the employees of any place is only making their jobs harder when they simply are following store policies.

Just started going to this Starbucks. First sandwich experience—paid $7 for a tomato and mozzarella sandwich that has only a half cherry tomato?

If can just give a 0 star to this location….
The atmosphere makes you not wanting to walk into this place ever again. The lady making the drinks had the most disgusting attitude a customer faced individual can have…. I ordered a Dirty Chai ( I oversee a Starbucks myself and I drink that every single day) first, it was just the shot of espresso with milk ( I came back and told her that the drink was missing the chai, she asked if what ordered wasn’t a chai, I said yes ( a dirty chai) but it is missing the chai tea….. she took the drink, look at me like I stank and dump the drink, the individual proceeded to make me a new drink which was not consistent with the flavor notes on a dirty chai, I told her ( my husband was having the same drink and his drink tasted fine)…. Then she kept talking over me, repeating ( do you want chai on the side numerous times).
At the end of the day, that’s not what the Starbucks culture represents, but most importantly I feel like the entire staff offers an unprofessional and mediocre customer experience that makes anyone’s day miserable… As a person being in the Food Service and Beverage industry for over 12 years, the last thing a customer needs is to deal with such unhappy and unpleasant people behind the counter….. If you don’t want to work, then just stay home. People don’t pay to be treated like a piece of garbage, and as a professional, if there’s anything bothering you or affecting your mood…. Guesss what??? You are at work and anything personal must remain personal if that’s the case….

We waited 30 minutes for our order. There was dirt everywhere. The staff couldn’t care less about the customers. Too bad we can’t take back the $1 tip.

L Street location wayyyyyy better. Go there instead.

Terrible customer service- look and sound miserable to work there. You can’t understand what they say cause they mumble then walk off. Seems like I’m not the only one who feels this way. Thank goodness there’s other locations nearby.

The Starbucks app let us order at this store, took our money, the app and website says they are open, yet they are closed on a Saturday morning.

Incident: Very Unprofessional employee, racially profiled by barista while sitting with my family after GWU commencement on 05/18/25 1:20 PM

I would give this location 0 stars if I have to. Very unprofessional baristas who clearly have nothing better to do than harass their own customers who are sitting there minding their own business. For context, I was just spending my time with my family and I was harassed by a barista on the fact that I didn’t buy anything from them. She was very demeaning to me and humiliated me in front of other customers including my family. I am coming all the way from another state to see my sister graduate from law school on this special day. All the baristas at this location should be trained on how to handle customer interactions and situations. Starbucks, please do better and hold your employees accountable. I will not be coming back here again next time I visit DC.

Update: *** Corporate has been called and they are investigating the incident and the District manager has been notified about the incident. ***

I work in customer service / retail likewise and at least I work, the customer is the center of everything we do and we aim for 100% satisfaction. My experience didn’t reflect that as a customer.

The hours at the store are laughably bad. If you have any evening coursework at Elliot, forget it.

Staff seem nice and relatively quick, if frazzled. They're pretty much the only reason I'll give this a two instead of a one.

A standard Starbucks but the staff are very nice.
