I’m not sure what it is but they make the best coffee in the Starbucks corporation. These guys are talented. I have been here three times and omg they make such good drinks. The iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso tastes like a totally different drink here. It’s just amazing I wish I could go to this location everyday but I live quite far. I love this location! Best employees!

This place was so pleasant, clean and cheery at 8:30am on Tuesday. It was busy, but all the staff were in a good mood and keeping things moving quickly. Shoutout to Rosslyn who was distributing drinks and saying good morning to everyone! I don’t usually review chains. But I am reviewing this one because I was so impressed by the staff.

I've lived in this neighborhood for 13 years, and I've seen the gradual worsening of this place... At this point, I feel like this review applies to the entire Starbucks chain. Their coffee is insanely overpriced, considering its quality is way worse than many non-Starbucks cafes in this neighborhood. I understand (don't agree, but understand) how Starbucks was a successful business model when they used to sell coffee in neighborhoods that otherwise didn't have coffee houses, or how they could charge so much for a latte when nobody else around them knew how to make one. Or how they didn't have to worry about creating a pleasant ambiance because...well... there weren't any other alternatives for people, so why bother? But there's been a cultural evolution. The Boston-based Tatte chain is all around the place, and newly inspired chains like Maman are also spreading far and wide. Plus a lot of smaller mom-and-pop cafe shops that have a cosy ambiance, a shelf with books, a quiet atmosphere - you don't even need to go too far, just cross to the other side of Dupont Circle, or go down to 17th Street. Or up Connecticut Avenue. There are two excellent coffee places just on the block between 20th & R and 20th & S. The French model of a cafe is now on the rise, where you not only get freshly roasted, delicious espresso, but also a freshly baked pastry (not a microwaved breakfast sandwich made of ingredients that must have died of old age a long time ago). People are looking for GOOD coffee, GOOD pastries, ideally even a proper meal, and AMBIANCE that is enjoyable, where you can sit and relax. Starbucks is none of that. Stale food. Acidic, strange-tasting coffee. Their espresso drinks are still okay but overpriced. The only part of their business model where they are still ahead of others is the drive-through shops. Maybe that's their future. Especially because the hygiene inside regular stores has gone so far south, you don't even want to come in - including the Dupont Circle location.

Friendliest Barista I’ve ever encountered. Drinks were made perfectly and the atmosphere was welcoming.

I’ve been working in the city for over a month now and usually start my day at this Starbucks. I’ve never had an issue! I absolutely love the second floor overlooking DuPont Circle, such a great way to start the day.
My favorites are Ricky, The girl with the red ends in her hair and the manager with the black knit hat.
Will keep coming back!! 🙂‍↕️💕

Probably the worst Starbucks I have been to. Not a comfortable experience at all. Music is incredibly loud and people inside talk very loudly. I saw someone sit outside to take a meeting because of the condition inside and I probably should have done the same.

I am so thankful this is the closest Starbucks to me because the staff are so friendly and kind! It makes me so happy every morning when I pick up my coffee - their energy is contagious and a great way to start the day!

With Starbucks you know what you are getting because choice and quality are fairly similar. The wait to be served was a bit longer than I would wish and a lot of people. were waiting to collect their drinks. Perhaps this was just a reflection of the time I visited.

I asked for light ice in my refresher and it’s filled 3/4th with ice…feel like I got ripped off.

In the “working area” (on the 2nd floor) the tables are constantly super dirty. Staff doesn’t clean them during the day. Certainly doesn’t feel nice when sitting here, and putting my laptop and printed documents there on these dirty tables. Also, staff is far from friendly (to put it mildly)
