I had a fantastic experience at this Starbucks on Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE! The staff here are truly awesome – friendly, welcoming, and always ready to make your drink just the way you like it. You can tell they care about creating a positive environment for every customer who walks through the door.

One of my favorite features of this location is the conference room. It’s such a great option if you need a quiet space for a quick meeting, study session, or just to get work done. It’s clean, comfortable, and makes this Starbucks feel like more than just a coffee shop – it’s a place where you can actually be productive.

Between the excellent service, great drinks, and the added convenience of a meeting space, this Starbucks is a gem. Highly recommend stopping by!

I had a very upsetting experience at this Starbucks in Anacostia today. Even though I arrived before several other customers, my order was taken late and prepared after multiple Black customers who came in after me. It was very clear that I was treated differently because I am White, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable, especially in a company like Starbucks that claims to value diversity and inclusion. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and ensures that all customers are treated equally and respectfully moving forward.

One of the most welcoming Starbucks I've ever been to! The employees welcome almost every single customer that walks in and it is very clean/spacious. One of the employees made rounds to ask if anyone needed anything which I have never seen done at a Starbucks. There's a private conference room inside as well, highly recommend!

New shift lead did not let me get a cup of ice water.
I come into this Starbucks every morning.
He said he would lose his job for giving me ice water.
Never heard of this from Starbucks in the 2 years I have been going to this location.
I won’t never be going back.

This is a busy Starbucks and the baristas here do not miss! Staff is serving you delicious drinks and bites consistently and are insanely friendly.

I’ve given this Starbucks 7–8 tries, and the service is consistently bad—just in different ways each time. Overall, it’s the worst Starbucks I’ve visited in over 17 years. I never leave reviews or comments unless the experience is truly awful.

1. I show up and wait at the counter (with no other customers around), while three employees just ignore me for a few minutes, chatting with each other.
2. My coffee is made, but then left sitting under the brewer for several minutes while they continue their conversation.

There are a few other stories I won’t share out of respect, but the audacity to not even greet a customer? I won’t be coming back.

Also, a Frappuccino with caramel is not brewed coffee with a caramel pump. And taking five minutes to locate caramel in your machine—making an order of just two coffees take 17 minutes—is ridiculous. Jeez. And to the Starbucks that responded you can correct your order, let’s be real, people get their coffees before work, if it takes 17 minutes for them to make two coffees for you, do you really have another 15 minutes to wait around since they’re so slow?

I generally enjoy the experience and I love that the place embodies ward 8 culture, but sometimes it is hard to get work done here because the music is extremely too loud. I sometimes jokingly tell people that I am at a party anytime I have a meeting while I am working here, but after a while the loud music just makes it very challenging to focus. The music choice is perfect, but the volume can be overbearing. Besides the music, the people are pretty awesome, and the drinks are always on point. Once the music problem is handled this Starbucks would easily be a 5 star in my book.

Waited 15+ minutes for a microwaved sandwich. I know there was a line but this is ridiculous, the whole point is to be fast. Your microwaving a sandwich! Some people were waiting even longer. Buy move microwaves!
