As a single mother I was having a troubled cold morning with a sick toddler. From the moment I walked in; although busy with inventory CeCe acknowledged me and had me wait on another associate from the back. With urgency Tay arrives and had the best attitude! Offered menu items and very patient. The most important thing is he made my sick daughter smile. He made her feel welcomed. And even gave mom her props as well. Destiny made the best drinks for me and baby girl and smiled the entire time with great conversation. She was the first to greet us walking in. This type of service is important. Especially here based in DC. Gives the neighborhood a different vibe. I’ll see you every Sunday! I pray it’s the same shift! GANG ??

Worst Starbucks in the DMV; service is unnecessarily sluggish, employees are unprofessional, unapproachable, loud, careless and semi biased. The items I wanted to try and already tried were all out. Waited close to 18 minutes for non heated pastries as well as a hot wrap that wasn't fresh either. When your order is made you aren't informed (called by name) rather your order in placed in a pile of more ready orders for you to come and pick through. Lastly, employees are too focused on very personal and sometimes derogatory dialogue amongst themselves and personal outside friends. Starbucks is great but expensive, I at least have earned a basic greeting (never recieve) respect and a thank ever so often, instead I pay a dozen of disrespectful and out of touch persons to mistreat me..that's insanity and as of today I will spend my funds at a FRIENDLIER location.
The employees spend far more time having very personal conversations with with each other and other non paying patrons. They're incredibly slow, non approachable, and unprofessional. The star rating for this location including the reviews have gotta be bots or paid personal because I've consistently witnessed and endured rather careless, biased and unapproachable customer at this location. When your orders are ready.. you're not even called rather your order sits amongst a pile of "ready orders", they'll watch you stand and not acknowledge or inquire your status. Lastly, they're biased as to who they approach semi professionally. My advice is to visit during busy times, they're incredibly slow and careless but at least your drink and food will be called to you while still hot!!!

As a loyal Starbucks customer, I've been to too many locations to remember across the east coast and around the country. However, it's rare that I see a Starbucks operating like a local coffee shop, with care and consideration for their customers like they aren't a massive nationwide chain.The service here is outstanding. Several baristas known their regulars by name and can start their orders as soon as they walk in. I watched them sing happy birthday to a regular customer who walked in for her daily order, which was super adorable. They also take the time to notice new customers, even if it for a day. The speed of service is very impressive given the large volume of morning traffic. The store is very clean, and the staff works together like a well oiled machine to keep the store clean as most any rushes. Custom orders are made with care, drinks are prepared just the way you want them, and food is fresh. I've only been here twice due to an off-site work training in the area, but if I'm ever on MLK I will be sure to stop by again.
