We've come here a couple times if we want to go for a walk and get some dessert and regret it every time. The cookies are always stale and hard, and the ice cream is too icy. Brookland needs an ice cream or frozen yogurt shop SO BADLY!

Awesome burger! I got the chicken burger, it was the best chicken burger I have had to date. Great char on the patty and wonderful flavor combo with the toppings. Also the sweet potato fries were crazy good! I can't wait to get back and try something else but it may be hard to not order the chicken burger again.

These are some of the most interesting-tasting burgers I've ever eaten. They're out there, and that's what makes them appealing. I've had two of the four possible beef options ("You've Been Warned" and "The Fun Guy"). These wild offerings have intense flavors that are crazy good. I actually have a hard time describing how it all comes together, but it does. There's no "plain" here. If you want a plain burger, you'll miss the point of these creations. I kinda think of them as the Weather Report of burgers, if that makes any sense. For younger folks, Weather Report was a unique, improvisational jazz group that explored many areas of music and pushed boundries. The fries get high marks too. Stupid Burger: Play on!
The guy working there rang me up wearing the same gloves that he was preparing the food with. My credit card had grease on it when he handed it back to me. He then continued to make the previous customer’s burgers, all while wearing the same gloves!!! Then, he started making my hamburger. He picked up the raw hamburger meat with the same exact gloves on!!! And, he dropped something on the floor and put it back on his workstation without washing it!!! And, the hamburger meat was sitting out the whole time!!! I asked him to please cancel my order and give me a refund. He said that he didn’t know how to do that, so I just left. I’ve filed a complaint with the DC DOH.

Cool mini food hall! Our burgers were incredible, and the bar was having happy hour - what more can you ask for! (We also saw some tacos that were colorful and bright, so I'm excited to try those next time). I wish more people knew about this place - it might help expand their hours. A few places were closed that I was interested in trying.

"The Union Market of Brookland!" What once was a factory is now a spot to sample a number of tasty food and beverage options. While items may be a bit pricier, the casual vibes, great selection, and ability to try local options or see food made before your eyes is well worth it. Tastemakers has a decent amount of indoor seating and a large patio area perfect for sampling a number of items on a beautiful day. They also have some great classes on weekends to help broaden your cooking horizon. While the hours vary for the food options, most are open early afternoon. They've got a little something for everyone: Alchemist Coffee for your morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up, Benjamin's - a Ben Franklin themed bar with local beers and some creative cocktails, Bullfrog Bagels - bagels an such, Captain Cookie - for your sweet tooth, J*** and Juice for your Jamaican flavor, OMG Latin Flavors and Taqueria del Barrio if you are craving Latin American food (empanadas looked great!), and Stupid Burger with burgers that looked stupid good. Definitely worth a visit and little lap to sample these great options!

Would highly recommend this place, great burger and great flavor. It tastes a while to get your burger so be prepared for that if you are in a hurry

It was delicious. We had the spicy burger (I forget what it was called) and the Cowboy burger. We both preferred the Cowboy burger, but the spicy one was also great. The sweet potato fries have maple syrup drizzled on top which is wonderful. There were also some small cubes which looked like they could have been short, stocky fries, but I believe the cook said they were mashed and then fried plantains. They were a really nice little accompaniment which I was listed as an option for the sides.
