Hidden Gem! I want to try every single sandwich they have. I tried 4 so far and none of them disappointed.

Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. I got the Seoul. This is a really smart concept for a sando shop. They have something for every palette of the world. I would add an nyc option, and make it meatball, or a parm, but that’s me.
Stopped here for lunch after getting in at DCA. AMAZING sandwiches!
We got the Lima & the Kingston.

Whenever I’m in DC for a conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, this spot is my go-to for lunch! I’ve tried a bunch of their sandwiches—Beirut, Shiraz, Moscow, Istanbul, Lima, Athena, and Seoul, and while it’s tough to choose a favorite, I’ve especially loved the Istanbul, Athena, and Lima. The staff are friendly and helpful, but I wouldn’t recommend dining in. There’s limited seating and not much ambiance, so it’s better suited for a grab-and-go meal.

Decent sized sandwich but still overpriced for what it was, 17 plus tax for a vegetarian sandwich (tomatoes and mozzarella) is a lot.

Only complaint i have is the location. It's in an alley. So if you never been there, make sure you use your GPS and keep your eyes open, you will miss it if you blink. Also, this place is not a dine in restaurant. Order, get your Sandwich and leave! The Sandwiches...absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Lima. But they have plenty of other incredible sandwiches. If you are in the area, go and get yourself a sundevich!

I visited this restaurant yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The moment I walked in, the place didn’t feel clean or inviting—but I decided to give it a try based on a recommendation. The food itself didn’t taste good, and to make matters worse, I found a piece of plastic in my sandwich. That was the final straw. I won’t be returning, and I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews.

I was getting on a sandwich kick during a work trip to the DC convention hall area and was trying the different places around. Upon coming here, I only returned back to here.
The options are wide yet specific. I say specific because the flavor in each are specific; each sandwhich feels like it takes your taste buds on a little roller coaster. The side dishes are equally as delicious. The curried potatoes were my favorite and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s a little bit more expensive than some other places, but I wasn’t able to finish my sandwiches each time, kept returning and am actually wishing I could pick up a sandwich as I type this right now, so…
All that, and the fact that it literally is a hole in the wall of a restaurant, it is a place you should at least visit for a meal once and watch it blossom into more.
There is a little table where 2-4 people could eat, otherwise there are benches outside, or you will have to take it back wherever you came from to eat. Expect to wait like 5-15 minutes for your meal depending on the time of day, but do listen in for your order to be called out from inside as there is no outdoor PA sound system.

Great delicious stuffed sandwiches. Have gotten several different ones and all are delicious. Can order ahead on their site and pick up. Otherwise ordering at the counter takes about 10-15 mins.

If you’re in DC’s Shaw neighborhood at lunchtime, do yourself a favor and get one of the many delicious sandwiches with the freshest ingredients I’ve ever eaten! For salad enthusiasts, they offer a modest selection of super fresh salads, too. This place is a neighborhood gem and the portion sizes are generous. It’s a small space with limited seating, so an ideal option for a grab-and-go sandwich on your way to work or a park picnic. Highly recommend!

I got the Seoul sandwich and it was underwhelming. More bread than anything else and it was really heavy with the sauce, causing indigestion. The flavors were there though.

We went there yesterday to be exact on August 25th, 2024. I saw some people were hiping up this sandwich shop in DC. It wasn’t all that honestly. When we went in it was really quiet. You could not see the cashier or what they were doing in the other side of the cashier. There were stuff blocking you from seeing anything. I got the Teheran which was a simple mortadella sandwich that I could’ve made at home myself for that price. Mortadella is not supposed to have feta cheese in it if it’s Persian style. You might as well call it a Greek sandwich. Persian sandwich as I know mortadella is inside, tomato, Persian pickles, and parsley. The feta made the sandwich even more saltier that I couldn’t eat the other half. My husband did not like that beef tongue sandwich. He said they put a grainy mustard which killed the taste of the sandwich. He also mentioned that they had overcooked the beef tongue that it felt like chewing a rubber stopper. Beef tongue should always be cooked till the you see the tongue meet all smooth that it comes apart or melts in your mouth.
