I have thought about this review long and hard, but I want to be fully transparent with my experience with Sunflower Gardenz.
Back in February I was referred to this company by numerous people, I reached out and they responded very quickly and were super friendly. I was inquiring about baked goods for my son’s very first birthday in May. They even went as far as waving the delivery fee so we could stay in our budget. The cookies we asked for had a very elaborate design and I said in the email that we were open to ideas if it couldn’t be done. They confirmed that they could do the designs, which we found out when we received them that was not the case at all. Everything up until the day of delivery was amazing. The items were supposed be delivered the day before the party at 3pm, around 1pm on the day of delivery I was told they’d be delivered at 5 due to an event taking longer than expected… and then radio silence until the next morning (the day of my sons birthday party).
This what the order included:
Small Rustic/Semi Naked Peanut Butter Smash Cake w/ Vanilla Frosting
1 dozen Blue Velvet Mini Cupcakes
1 dozen Apple Pie Mini Cupcakes
4 dozen decorative Shortbread Cookies (1/2 chocolate, 1/2 regular
I’ve attached the photos of the decorative cookies we asked for versus what we received to this review. The cookies were not edible, and the icing smeared off onto our hands the second we touched them. Not to mention we only recieved 24 cookies out of the 48 we paid for. The cupcakes were not mini, which once communication came back through, we were told that their “mini” cupcakes are actually regular size and they usually make jumbo ones. That was fine, but definitely a detail I wish was told to us prior to ordering. The cake had peanuts and gold flakes on them, when we asked for a semi naked cake. They did inform me the day AFTER the items were supposed to be delivered (after we paid as well, and hours before the event) that they put peanuts and gold flakes on the cake. We had to scrape it off because a one year old cannot eat that. I was already flustered since the items we paid for back in February did not get delivered the day that was confirmed (the day before the event) and there was no communication after they informed me that the delivery would be only two hours late.
When we did have communication again, the day of the party… I was told there was a car accident, and I understand things happen, but the associate that delivered our items had no idea there was a car accident? It was very frustrating and confusing.
The second I saw the cookies I called and texted the number they contacted me on the morning of the event, and no answer or response. I sent an email as well and honestly by that point it was too late since the party was only starting in a couple of hours. We finally got a response at 5pm after the event ended.
I will note that they did give us a full refund for the cookies. And as far as taste goes, the cupcakes and the cake itself were a hit. One of the most frustrating parts of my customer experience is that it is abundantly clear that the baker was in no way capable of creating the cookies I requested based on the quality of the cookies I received. They had to have known that they did not have the expertise and tools necessary to create the designs I requested, but she accepted the order anyway for our special, milestone event, and delivered a terrible, inedible product. We try our best and look forward to supporting small local businesses so this review was not easy to write. As a first time mom trying to celebrate our son’s first birthday, this was a just a headache and terrible experience.

Listen y'all I’m not even big on vegan food, but I’ve had several of the dishes here. A coconut cream cake, vegan empanadas, and baked spaghetti and everything was absolutely delicious I’ve never had anything this good that didn’t have meat in it. Most of the time you aren’t even able to tell! 10/10 would do it again and I definitely recommend!

The best cake I have ever had in my entire life came from Sunflower Gardenz. That alone is worth a five star review. But other than having the literal best dessert I've found in 30 years of dessert-eating, they will also drive that dessert straight to your door, and maintain a 100% vegan menu. Every single time I've gotten food from this place, I was amazed. The quality is unmatched, it's a vegan joint which is just so amazing to see, and the people who work here are so kind. Highly recommend their Valentine's Day menu if you get the chance, but literally anything they offer will blow you away. Easiest 5 star review of my life, I'll be a happy customer for as long as I can be.

Sunflower Gardenz is absolutely amazing. My GF introduced me to this business and myself being a meat eater I was super surprised that I love this place as much as I do (since everything is vegan). There are so many options and the owners are always willing to be extra careful when it comes to my GF’s allergies for example peanuts but we still have amazing dishes each and everytime. Most recently we ordered for the holidays and had the follow along instrustructions and the food still was amazing! We still have left overs we are snacking off of. Before our most recent order we ordered some biscuits and gravy, so good ! I recommend Sunflower Gardenz, 100/100 A++ on everything we had! We are from Baltimore so we often travel just to eat from here, it is worth it!
