Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!! They give Caribbean food a bad name. No taste at all Oxtail was old mac&cheese was hard Cabbage was subpar and plantains were over cooked and burnt!! Stewed chicken had a horrible taste that I couldn’t figure out what it was!!Customer service was horrible!! They need to change or they need to close ASAP before they hurt someone!! I had to trash over &100 worth of food!! SMH

My first time there in the Greenbelt location. I was very disappointed in the taste, there was none, don’t know if I would give them a second time. When I walked in, there were 3 tables occupied, one was a couple, I watched as their food was being served, immediately I noticed that the couple did not like it, by their gestures. As I was leaving and looked back in the window at the couple, the guy gestured no to me. When I got home with my roti, I was truly disappointed. Oh yeah, I had initially asked the cashier/hostess how much for my roti, it clearly stated $18, I gave her a $20 and she said that it was $20, no change back.

I would’ve gave this place better stars but the guy who was smoking the cigarette in the black truck then came to make my plate (did not wash his hands) just made it worse. The food is already sitting out -you can see it- so I ordered stew chicken w two sides, Chickpeas and potatoes with spinach & another side of Mac n cheese and chicken patty for the kids. Now that I’m home I see he put lentils instead of chickpeas.. I call & HE GETS MAD AT ME FOR CALLING TO TELL HIM HE PUT THE WRONG THING ON MY PLATE LIKE WHATTT 😑 all im sayin is check your food dnt be distracted like me b/c if he puts your order wrong he will be mad at you… im gonna go back to check him but to never order food

I ordered this on doordash but It was Amazing ! I had the vegan curry which comes with rice and beans and cabbage - this is the best carribean vegan food Ive ever had

For the quality and flavor of the Ox Tails, it's no where near worth the price.

Environment not the best but customer service can always make up for this. Unfortunately, it was extremely subpar customer service. Place could be cleaned too.

Rice, rice, and more rice was my plate despite paying for an Ox Tail Entree.

Recommend going else where.

The best Caribbean restaurant I have been to so far. These people are serious about food.

This restaurant needs a good scrub down with some refreasher paint. It doesn't look or feel clean. Service was not good partly because the owner sat in the dining room having a very LOUD conversation on her cell phone in which she complained about being understaffed. Hello? After spending a significant amount of money against my better judgment, the food was not good. Cheap ingredients, no flavor other than black pepper. AND I found a giant piece of white plastic wrapper in my aloo pie, which barely had any aloo in it. Yuck! We got a few dishes and everything was underwhelming and disappointing.

The male server had an attitude the moment I walked in the door. I allowed 2 other ladies to order before me as I moved my car in front of the restaurant as I wanted to watch my car as I dined in. While back in line I saw another carribean man order I asked him he said it was alacart. The male server now said if I want something different I can take my "sheet" out of there? I rebuked him for the profanity in front of his own kids. I told him to mind his own business as I wasn't talking to him. His son and a pregnant girl now came out of the kitchen towards me..(assault) I told them not to say anything to me. The Caribbean gentleman even said this convo was between him and I. They're very ignorant and could have caught charges. The female older server was very accommodating. I received my order from her and departed. I won't come there again.

Y’all need to update your hours, got here walking up and down the street, like a mad person until I realize that your shutters were closed and locked up.. and this was a whole hour and a half before the posted close time

I ordered the jerk chicken and it did not taste like jerk at all and had bones in every single bite complete waste of money

Was excited to try their vegan food as they have high rankings and the food in the pictures look delicious. Was surprised when I arrived that no one came from the back though I could hear them talking. Once I looked around I knew this was not a place I wanted to eat from. The food did not look fresh and what was out seemed as if it was reheated. The place looks like it is about to close. All the while taking these pictures still on one came from the back so I left.

Walk in this place and there is a door charmed and no one even came from the back to greet me. I stood in the front for about five minutes looking at the food behind the glass that looks like it’s been sitting there or been reheated like leftovers.

The vegan food is sooooooooo good! Love this place! Everyone is so nice. Vegan jerk and channa potato’s with hot sauce is soo good!
