Been a favorite bar of ours for years now. If you love unique amaro-forward cocktails, old movies, cozy spaces, great conversations with strangers (usually about cinema), this may be a bar for you too!

Cool spot. Great vibes. The movie theater gets noisy - it’s the second floor of a bar. Their movie selection is amazing, but don’t go in expecting a perfectly silent theater.

Such a treat whenever we go. I love seeing movies I haven’t seen before that usually produce a good laugh amongst the crowd. Some of the chairs are uncomfortable (especially if you’re not tall and your feet can’t reach the floor) so arrive early to get a good seat. The bar alone is worth the visit because the cocktails are so good, nice and strong and unique. Movies for the following month are usually released quite late the month before so keep an eye out and book fast before they sell out.

Wanted to celebrate my son’s birthday over here so i came over to inquire, I was completely ignored and when I asked for information the person that works here was very dismissive, whats so funny is when i left i stayed in the side walk and when a group of white people walked in the same person that was being dismissive was so friendly and welcoming to the White customers. Im not saying they are racist at all but that was a funny incident, well I decided to spent money somewhere else.

Suns Cinema is one of my favorite places in all of D.C. It's just a really special place. You can watch a movie, or two in the same night if the tickets aren't already sold out yet. Their tickets sell out FAST so if you see something you're interested in, get your tickets ASAP. They have a bar that you can access even if you don't have any movie tickets. There's indoor seating, some patio seating, and cute little sidewalk garden seating area for when the weather is nice. Suns Cinema is a place where strangers become friends and you can just have an easy going low-key night out with friends or alone. I just love this place.

Very fun, cool place. Well curated selection of movies, with many foreign and classic movies, and great drinks.
An interesting little place. The cocktails were meh but the ambiance was unique. Music was great, and everyone there was so hip.

A truly amazing staple in the mt pleasant neighborhood. Single screen theaters are community gems and suns cinema commitment to arthouse / indie / classic cinema is something to cherish. The drinks are great and they sell light snack concessions as well. The patio is open nightly if you just want to hang out and they play movies by the bar inside !

I am happy that I finally stopped by since I pass by it everyday. Interesting to have a spot to watch foreign movies which is not easy around here. Will definitely be back. The bartender is cool and I liked the pink flamingo cocktail.

I want to give 4 stars because they have like a 60:1 people to toilet ratio but the atmosphere, movie selection, cocktails and popcorn are so great it's a 5 star experience regardless
