We went to Sushi Ogawa for my best friend's birthday and we all agreed that it was one of the best meals we have ever had. All of the fish was fresh, the chef was wonderful and accommodating, and everything was absolutely delicious.I urge you not to compare the price of Ogawa to other omakase in the area. Trust me when I tell you, you get more than your money's worth. For reference we sat at the chef's counter for lunch in March. Stand out dishes for me were the Japanese barracuda, chawanmushi, hand roll, and the dish with fresh yuzu.Everyone at the table (3 men, 2 women) were stuffed by the end of the meal!Thank you, chef, for a wonderful day and a wonderful meal.Dietary restrictions: They are willing to accommodate any requestsParking: Parking was difficult to find on a Tuesday afternoon, but doable.

I went in on Friday 12 pm for counter omakase, showed up without reservation at opening and the waitress quickly seated me to the counter. Kevin explained each dish to me and made sure I was full before I left. The wagyu nigiri was awesome with the foie gras and caviar.Discount by cash.

chef ogawa and his team are extremely nice and attentive to their work and the quality of sushi was amazing. my husband and i came here for valentine’s day and i would say it’s very underrated as we preferred this over other omakase places we have went to in the dc area. definitely will be back with friends and family!

this place is WAYYYYY overpriced they charged me 16 flipping dollars for 2 GLASSES of sparkeling water. WATER. in total I got 3 rolls 2 miso soups and 2 sparkling waters and a coke and my total was $88 + an additional tip. The food was good but not worth it.

A wonderful Omakase experience in Washington, D.C. Superbly fresh and meticulously prepared. Hats off to the staff who were so warm and welcoming. A small piece of Japan in the Nation's Capital.

My wife and I spent 200 each for the omakase and both got food poisoning

If you are Japanese or sushi lover then avoid here please. We ordered omakase, but after the first plate we didn't want to eat anymore and left the restaurant. The appetizer consisted of chunks of red meat, medium-fatty fatty tuna, and large fatty tuna, with sea urchin on top. The sashimi was just okay. The sea urchin was the worst. The quality of the food was so bad that I thought it was rotten, so I paid for it and left the restaurant. By the way, the next dish was also going to serve chopped white meat. Furthermore, even though I hadn't even finished the first dish, the second dish (shredded white meat) and third dish were prepared. The third dish was tempura, so I was sure it would be cold by the time I ate it.

Very serviceable if you're into great quality and hard to source fish. No frills and pricey, so expect that. I was very impressed by the generous portions. Definite return

The food here was really good. I order the special sushi assortment and the fish was super fresh.

Given the ambience of the place — the staff completely unaware of any Japanese culinary tradition and culture — I expected nothing of the place when I first arrived. It turned out that the food was not as bad. I had ordered Matsu sushi for $60 — there was no way I would order a $240 omakase given all the inexperience staff revealed. It was okay but not to the standard the restaurant seems to aspire, given its price structure. The sake list was not exceptional. Overall, it is another restaurant I will not return.

Food was good but didn’t expect to pay $700 for 2 people. It says omakase is $240 per person but they add service charge? Or some kind of charge and it costs us $700 for one meal... We don’t drink alcohol so we ordered hot green tea and coke and the total was $700… I’m Japanese and are a lot of omakase sushi in the US but I felt like this restaurant was way over priced. My husband and I were shocked. The chef was nice and food was good, but you can find place to eat same quality omakase for much cheaper.
