I was very disappointed the last time I ordered food. The portion size is very small like a kids meal. I can't believe we spend over $50 and it was not enough food for me and my husband. If it was another classic restaurant we will bag food to go because the portion size is reasonable

Decently expensive, but totally worth it. First off - friendly, knowledgeable, attentive service. Friendly atmosphere and very well decorated nice restaurant. We got the combo platter for 2-3 and left stuffed. Delicious food, high quality ingredients, tasted very fresh. I’ll be returning for sure.

Try the Suya and Jollof rice. The flaming margarita is excellent. If you like spicy ask for the extra hot sauce as well

Great food. Definitely try this place. The servers are sometimes hard to find as they seem to dissappear for 15 to 20 minutes. Id love to give 5 stars as the food was both good and fast but the servers in the afternoon were very hard to find.

First of the wait was very long .I ordered take out the portion size was small for 36 dollars the goat stew was chewy and salty the spinach was very cold half the tray was hot . I'm very disappointed because I've heard great things and just wanted some authentic Africa food I guess I came to the wrong conclusion person

Upbeat, attentive staff, very inviting decor, and the music was vibes! All our entrees were tasty and well-prepared; the breads could've been a bit softer though. Overall, and by far, a great place to eat and chill.

Pulled up to Swahili Village in DC for a night out with my queen, and lemme tell you, this spot is built different. Soon as you walk in, the vibe hits you. Elegant. Cultural. Powerful. Felt like royalty steppin’ through them doors.

The music? Straight Afrobeats and soul rhythms on loop, had the whole place feeling alive without bein’ too loud. Set the mood just right while we sipped drinks and locked in. Food came out hot, seasoned to perfection, I had the oxtail, my lady went for the goat, and we was both silent from the first bite. Flavor was bussin’, portions generous, and the plating was clean.

Big shoutout to our waiter, dude had class. Knew the menu like the back of his hand, made real recommendations, and checked in without hovering. The hospitality? Elite. They treated us like VIPs the whole night.

Swahili Village ain’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. If you got someone special or just wanna eat like a boss, this the move.
Five stars.
