Overpriced, unfriendly staff. Been here many times as it’s right by my office. Quality is ok but small portions and very expensive. Between the consistently unwelcoming service and high cost I generally avoid it, which is a shame because I’d come all the time otherwise.

This is by far one of my favorite coffee spots in DC! The staff is always so great and respectful and the food is awesome as well. Whether it is to study, work, or catch up with a friend, I would highly recommend Simona Cafe!

The music selection was good, and the volume was just right. I usually leave cafés if the music is too distracting, but that definitely wasn’t the case here.

Best coffee shop in the neighborhood

If you want to be mistreated while getting your morning cup of coffee this is the place for you.
Only giving it 1 star because I have to & the coffee was decent. But This was easily one of the rudest experiences I’ve had at a coffee shop. Service was 0/5. From the moment we walked in, the energy was cold and unwelcoming. The man behind the counter just stared and did not initially greet us. & The cashier with the locs was even more nasty.
She barely acknowledged us & truly made the whole interaction feel like a burden. I could tell she was irritated because my friend paid in cash. The look she gave her was extremely off putting while she was going through her wallet— and then was physically irritated because she asked for a Togo cup(it slipped her mind prior).
My 2 other girlfriends decided to not purchase after that interaction & took their business to Peet’s down the street.
What really got me is that once a line started forming, the cashier suddenly became upbeat and friendly. So the rude behavior wasn’t by accident—it was selective.
If I’m paying nearly $8 for a cup of coffee, I expect decent service at the very least. The customer service here was disgusting & I’d never recommend anyone to come here. There are way too many amazing coffee shops in D.C. to waste time (or money) on this one.

Really lovely atmosphere and the taste of the coffee is great! I ordered and oatmilk latte which came to $7.15 pre-tip. I will say it felt a little overpriced and the service was subpar. Overall it is a good place to visit but not my favorite coffee shop experience.
Amazing neighborhood spot! I go here once a week for the selection of fresh whole beans from local roasters. They also have great baked goods and breakfast sandwiches that I usually can’t resist. Highly recommend the scones
