This is a really good soul food restaurant near Howard University. It reminded me of Oleans near Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. This restaurant has some delicious comfort food. When we visited I tried the fried whiting and it was amazing. My two sides were the Mac and cheese and collard greens. They did not disappoint! I must say this was one of the best restaurants I've had in all the times that I have visited DC. The owners were very warm and friendly. They welcomed us in an made us feel at home. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone visiting the DC Metro area.

If it were just for the food, I'd give this place 5 stars. However, they seem to like keeping their own hours instead of honoring their posted hours. It's literally right around the corner from me so I try to go often -- about 75% of the times that I have tried to go and get food there (or call ahead to order), they've been closed even though it was during their normal business hours. It's for this reason that I've pretty much stopped going despite their yummy food.

See I know a girl who look like driving up on this little spot on the corner reading the words so fool you got to be skeptical because everybody can't cook so food but when I tell you this place right here was off the charts with excellent!! I am very picky when it comes to what I digest in my system and I must tell you you have to visit this spot this is one of my new favorite spots everything I ordered was spectacular!!!!

The food is sooooo good I usually get the Turkey Wings but decided on the pork chops and they were AMAZING! Perfectly seasoned & fried golden! I'm about to order another one right now!!!

I love love LOVE this place! The food was amazing and I've tasted some of everything. I personally had the bbq chicken, smothered chicken, smothered turkey wings, and cat fish all with macaroni and cheese, greens, and yams?? . My 1 year old and my husband loves it too but what we love most is their hospitality. I wish I could take them with us to Arizona. They are so incredibly sweet and the next time we're in DC this will be our first stop ❤

You get plenty of good grub for a good price, here; I got the whiting, mac and cheese, greens, green beans, cornbread and banana pudding - all of it was amazing, even a day later after realizing I couldn't possibly eat that much in one sitting. The flavors and textures were all incredibly on point.

Best soul food I've had so far in DC! Spotted randomly while walking through the neighborhood, stopped by and I'm so glad we did! Meal was made to order but we waited maybe 10 min. Super friendly people behind the counter. My friend said I was moaning when I tasted my greens and Mac and cheese lol. Her cabbage was amazing! And I don't even like or eat cabbage. I had excellent fried wings and shrimp. The only thing I didn't care for was the cornbread: it was perfectly baked but wasn't sweet enough for me. My bf loved it though so it's just preference. The other food was all so delicious that I'll give them a pass for the cornbread. Can't wait to go back and try all new things!
