We just went for a drink in the middle of the day. One of those rare places that I would rate a sixth star. Friendliness and presentation were incredible and I will definitely go back next time in DC!

Food was amazing but that's about all the good things I have to say about our experience here. My friends and I came here before the Wizards Celtics game and it was not very crowded so we thought it would be a good option. It took 15 minutes for a server to even come over to us, and the table of 9 that sat down next to us at the same time had left before we even ordered our food. Every time we needed something we had to flag down a random server because ours just disappeared for 20 minutes at a time. Took almost 2 hours to just get drinks and a meal. Then my friend found a hair in her food. Overall would not go again for the sole purpose of the service being terrible, but the food is undeniably good. Wish I had something better to say.

Atmosphere and food were amazing! Service was great and our server Michael was excellent!! We were sat in a small section with six tables for two. Seems they had some issues knowing where Nd who ordered what. All food coming out was brought to the wrong table every time. Otherwise, this place was great! The appetizers were very good and my burger was tasty!

Am in DC regularly and decided to try Taffer's Tavern really just out of curiosity as I'm a fan of the show. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly busy but not packed. Decided to sit at the bar for a few drinks and an early dinner. Sat at the bar for at least 5 minutes and was never greeted or served. Another group that was at the bar walked out just before me and they were obviously upset and after my experience, I can see why. After sitting there for over 5 minutes at a 1/2 empty bar, I decided to get up and leave myself. Considering the premise of his show, I'm pretty surprised about my experience. Not sure if I'll give it another try or not.

I was the one who suggested to come here since I have always been fan of the show. I honestly wanted to love this place but the service was awful. We never got physical menus even tho everyone at the bar did so we had to google the menu from our phones. The bartender have a really bad attitude and took him forever to acknowledge us, people that got there after us got their orders taken and delivered first. My drink fell apart when I got it, the bartender saw the Graham cracker and chocolate sink into my drink and he still decided to not remake it and just give it to me like that, since he seemed to be in a bad mood I didn’t ask for another one. So I had to drink my drink with a soggy Graham cracker and the piece of chocolate in the bottom.A friend took a video of my drink and you can see it fell apart and the bartender still chose to not remake it.

Nice bar restaurant, very nice staff, and amazing food and drinks. My only complaint is that the serving size for the hamburger Mac felt a little small for how much it was. However, I think it was a good portion as it was very filling.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a wheelchair/handicap accessible lift towards the right of the front entrance. All you need to do is go through the hotel next door, but if you go into the main entrance and ask the waiters and they will assist.

This place was a fantastic choice to eat and drink at for our D.C. trip! George was on the ball for getting our orders and providing a welcoming experience, and did an excellent job presenting the cocktails (which were stellar- the Harvest Margarita and S'moffee cocktail were FANTASTIC). The TT Poutine appetizer was delicious, and the Au Jus beef dip sandiwch was superb! My wife enjoyed the chicken and waffles, and we ordered the chocolate chip cookies with the bourbon cream dip for dessert. My only regret was that I couldn't finish everything because I was so full! All in all, hats off to Taffers Tavern for being the real deal full ensemble experience. Thanks for the good time, George and Co.!

Overall - “it’s fine”.Wine was v poor, food unseasoned, sauces untasted by a human before serving. Cheese unmelted. (We didn’t complain about the wine when we should have, on us).Had an odd interaction to start; where lovely man sat us and gave us food and drinks menus. Then a colleague came along and took the food menus away; we asked for them back… 3 times. “Yeah I’ll get you a drink first then we can talk food” was the eventual ‘bargain’ we struck before being given back the food menus. Very odd behaviour.Edit: okay - when we asked for “Pinot Grigio”, the same odd barman took it upon himself to pour the $18 glass instead of the $10. V unhappy.

My companion & I had the pleasure of visting Taffer's Tavern, founded by Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue fame. We had an adult beverage and small meal, which were both pricey & delicious. My drink was a S'moffee Martini, and my companion chose a Fireside Mule. I chose the Cheeseburger Mac for my meal & my companion chose Taffer' BBQ Sliders. With tip we were just over $100. If budget permits this is a fun venue to try out with some interesting offerings. Taffer's Tavern is located right next to the Capital One Arena on 6th Street in DC.Parking: Parking cost us $20 on a Sunday evening in an empty parking garage with no home hockey game going on. It was conveniently located close to the tavern.

I’ve never written a bad review but this experience was quite shocking, two of us went on a tuesday evening. It took 10 minutes for the server to come introduce herself and take our order. The plates we got initially were dirty? We weren’t given waters and had to ask twice. The cocktail I had was the prohibition which is meant to be a mixture of an old fashioned, manhattan and sazerac. You would expect this cocktail to be quite boozy and atleast 2 ounces of liquor given the description. It was served in a half full coup glass and it was WARM AND DILUTED. For a “barrel aged cocktail” there was absolutely no bite and booziness to it as well as no balance. We got a starter of wings which were okay but the buffalo sauce was definitely dry and the honey bourbon bbq felt like a mixture of ketchup and bbq.The most ridiculous part was when my date asked for ranch as a side for the wings, the server we asked was not our server. His response: oh you think i work here? apparently in a joking way. My date asked because he was clearly roaming the floor and had a tshirt on. He insinuated stereotyping and a sort of racial profiling which made her extremely uncomfortable and awkward. She did not feel comfortable saying anything to the staff after this incident. She went to the bathroom to take a minute as she got so much anxiety from the awkwardness of this situation.Furthermore, after we ordered our entrees took 25 minutes to come. I got a grilled chicken avocado sandwich which was stone cold, the cheese wasn’t even melted like the sandwich wasn’t even microwaved. After alerting the server she replaced it and took it off our bill. But the replacement still took another 15 minutes and at this point i had no desire or hunger to eat.By the way my tab for 1 drink, 1 starter and 1 entree - 60$I am a big fan of the show and this experience was quite ridiculous. Someone who yells at bartenders, cooks and industry for a living about these mistakes to run a restaurant that does the same stuff? The irony is comical. After reading some other reviews it is very evident this was not a once in a blue moon incident, but rather quite common.
