Our server, Frank was incredibly welcoming and kind. We had some lovely conversation with him throughout the meal and enjoyed the service, courses, and the overall atmosphere. Each course was paired well with Audrey's Wine pairing and the dishes were stunning.

Absurdly overpriced. Like laughably so. If you enjoy getting ripped off, this is the restaurant for you.

Great service, high-quality food. Nice atmosphere as well. Our only critique for the price was the lack of balance in the flavors across the plates we were served-- too many had jammy accents or condiments that made the meal lean too heavily sweet overall.

Fine dining with a younger, unpretentious, modern vibe. A little too lax for what you're spending, but the food lives up to your expectations regardless.

Atmosphere, service, and food were exceptional. The wait for the first snack course was about 25/30 minutes but then after that the courses came in perfectly timed. The flavors were vinegar favored and also best when all of the components on the plate were combined and not eaten separately. Total comes out to about $184 a person when going with 3 people and only getting the dinner and adding the cod. Service was constant and quick. Great Michelin star experience under $200. The cod is a must add to the dinner. The snacks were amazing. The salad with the brittle spread around was amazing. The squab had a great crust and is meant to be eaten with the onion and prunes. The monkfish with the sweet potato was perfect. Cheese and deserts were good hut i recommend a coffee with them. Cheers

Really sorry we went. Very surprised this place has a star. $400+ for 2 prefix meals and a glass of wine each. Our servers were below average yet they automatically put 22% on your bill. The food was overly sweet, uncreative and boring. Most ingredients were cheap vegetables and tubers (others have said this too). Over six courses you only get about 3oz of protein. The pigeon and monkfish were the only good part of the meal. The final course was an excessively large tart (as compared to all the other dishes) that just fills you up so you don’t leave hungry. Wish we had read the reviews here before going.. Plenty of other restaurants that would be WAY better value.

I have dined here several times. On my last visit this thought popped into my head: "Why would I ever (when in DC) search my brain again as to where to eat. BOOM. This is the place I will go to everytime for an enjoyable eating experience. EVERYTHING ( atmosphere, food, staff ) ‐ was/is excellent. The Owner has superb wine knowledge.Bon Appétit.

I stumbled upon Tail Up Goat while wandering the streets, and what a delightful discovery it turned out to be. Walking in for dinner at the bar, I was immediately impressed by the flawless service. The staff struck a perfect balance between professional hospitality and genuine human connection, making my dining experience truly enjoyable.Unlike some other restaurants where servers bombard you with uppity culinary jargon and $2 words they learned in a staff meeting, Tail Up Goat provided a refreshingly authentic experience. The food overall was excellent, with only one minor hiccup. The pork tenderloin, while flavorful, was a tad dry, possibly sliced too soon. However, even my "least favorite" dish was still enjoyable.Unfortunately, my experience was slightly marred by a small issue. I was offered a glass of bubbles, which I assumed was complimentary but was later charged for. It left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively speaking, but thankfully didn't completely sour my overall experience. It's entirely possible it was just a misunderstanding on my part that I should have clarified.Despite this minor blip, I would still highly recommend Tail Up Goat for its warm atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious food. It's definitely worth a visit.

I must agree with many of the reviewers on this restaurant, sadly it’s all one star. Some of them are listed below. My experience is explained after that.- The flavor profile of almost everything was either too strong and incoherent or not interesting.- Given this place has one Michelin star, my home kitchen deserves three stars.- Flavors are bland and portions are extremely small.- Mediocre food, portions are small, I shouldn't be leaving hungry after dropping $300+ on a meal.-Three of the smallest scallops I've ever eaten, zero seasoning...depressingly bland.- The icing on the cake was the mandatory 22% tip, included in the check. My Experience……We made a reservation (for two) well in advance, but we were seated at the bar on the corner. There were many seats at the bar and 2 tables with 2 seats empty till we left after dinner. We did request for a table, and it was denied. We ordered 2 old fashioned and they were decent. Had to wait a long time for my second drink as the bar tender was busy chatting with a lady customer. I happened to hold my glass up to the light and noticed that it was dirty (not expected at a Michelin restaurant). Food is bland as mentioned in other reviews. The orange dessert was salty like an appetizer. Tip added in the bill for just 2 people (not sure if that’s legal). A total of $342 for 2 people for bad food is disappointing. I must agree the bathrooms were much cleaner than the cocktail glass. The waiters who served food were polite and served well.

Small plates that were overall just fine, which was sad because I expect more than just fine from a Michelin star restaurant. Left hungry and disappointed because the experience was not worth the money. The Tyrian Sour was really good though, maybe would come back for just the bar.

A culinary gem where small plates delight, and family-sized dishes make the appetite ignite. Here, the wait staff shines, with service so grand, ready to meet any dietary demand. Friendly and accommodating, they truly excel, making each visit a memorable spell. Yes, it's pricey, a dent in the wallet, but for special moments, it's worth it to call it. A place where sharing is part of the charm, leaving taste buds dancing, wonderfully warm.

We loved every moment of our dining experience!I was pregnant, so I had some food restrictions. (E.g., can't eat raw food, foods need to be cooked to tempt, no alcohols, etc.) The whole team was so accommodating and even brought me an entire new menu with things that they were willing to make a substitution for and things that they could do so I could enjoy the food.Even with accommodation/slight modifications, all the dishes were fabulous! Loved every minute of our dining experience.
