This is a magical and intimate place to enjoy live music -- the primary reason I go. It has been around for a looong time. The atmosphere is wonderful! The food is good, although the service is a little slow, usually because they are careful about not disturbing the music experience. I also enjoy the regulars who are there as it is a neighborhood bar as well. Friendly warm and inviting atmosphere.

Bathroom is outdated...sinks didn't work. The whole bathroom needs to be torn down and renovated just gross.

Wanted to hear some live music and found Takoma Station Tavern. Absolutely wonderful spot! It definitely has dive bar feels, but with a Cheers kind of vibe. It’s like a 2 minute walk from the Takoma Metro. I sat at the bar and the bar staff are absolutely phenomenal!! I had the honey -jerk chicken tenders and they were really good! The whole entire vibe/experience was awesome! I can’t wait to get back!

Small intimate dive bar with a calendar full of great live jazz. Just saw Marc Cary featuring trumpet great, Ingrid Jensen. Recently checked out bassist Corcoran a Holt with trumpeter Marquis Hill.
They really feature the best of local national and international talent. The room is small enough that you can see and hear them from everywhere. The bar has good drinks, and the food is decent.
