Sunday morning place was packed. I got a Jerusalem bagel and my wife got the last croissant. No inside seating or sit down service on this day.My bagel seemed not fresh. I've tried every bagel in every city but I've never had a Jerusalem bagel. Not sure if it's not supposed to be similar to an NYC bagel like I grew up on. I asked for butter and received two frozen pats of butter in foil.Croissant was good. Wife got a coffee but the wait was pretty long. The staff was cranking them out as fast as they could but they were just slammed.

Wow! A wonderful FIVE-STAR breakfast for the entire family (toddlers included) enjoyed by all at Tatte Bakery and Cafe at Capitol Crossing on Massachusetts Avenue in DC. The barista is amazing, the chef is incredible, the baker is top-of-class, and the staff is very professional. Great protein breakfast sandwiches are prepared to order, in addition to an endless menu, including fantastic baked goods and other freshly pre-prepared items. Very clean, up-to-date, spacious, and comfortable dining establishment. All thumbs up.
First time trying this place… food was delicious but I was surprised that they served my croissant cold with no offer of warming it up… enjoyed a delicious shakshuka only to excuse myself to the restroom afterwards and return to my whole table cleared and my almost full latte thrown away! When asked about it everyone seemed very annoyed and inconvenienced… I ordered a 16oz and was given the smaller cup as a replacement… extremely disappointed in my service, I wouldn’t recommend this place for solo diners!

Always a big fan of Tatte. Great cafe vibes, good food and prompt service. Came in around 2pmand was sad to know that my two favorite, the almond croissant and the pain au chocolate were both sold out. Settled for a ham and cheese croissant and a coffee cake. The ham and cheese croissant was excellent. The coffee cake was dense but not dry nor too sweet so I enjoyed it. The iced matcha latte I will say was very mid, not a dense enough matcha flavor for my liking had to add vanilla syrup and honey for it to make sense to my pallet.

Bizarre experience. Asked for a green tea staying-in, got a mint tea in a to-go-cup. Maybe teach the staff to listen to their customers. Sandwich portions are big, good for sharing.
Good spot but you really should not cook or serve shakshuka in an aluminum pan. Aluminum reacts with acidic foods like tomatoes and leeches into the food, which is a known health hazard.

Really overrated and overpriced. Don’t understand the fascination and crowd for 8$ subpar pastry and crummy service. Cheesecake and brownie was awful. Paid 27$ for three pieces of sweets.

While it is a bustling location and appears to be a favourite, they could pay a bit more attention to what they are serving. The shakshuka although flavourful, was completely watery, both the times I went here. However, their drip coffee was one of the best ones I have had anywhere. I am not joking; drip coffee nearly everywhere is poor quality, burnt and bitter tasting. This one was neither bitter nor sour. They have a good pastry selection too.I just wish they did not try passing off a pale shadow of what is a delicious and mouthwatering middle eastern dish and charge an arm and a leg for that tomato water.

Came in to pick up some pastries. The pear tart, roasted strawberry teacake, and orange cake have all been delicious. I also got a sun dried tomato and feta scone, was not too dry for a scone and well seasoned. It made a great togo snack at the airport. My friend got a ham and cheese croissantwich, which she said was a bit salty. Overall, staff were pleasant, I was unable to get a hot dish I wanted because it was sold out, but next time!
