I wish their were negative stars for these guys. I would suggest the staff go to customer service skills school and take some classes. When I yelp a restaurant it usually is 5 stars........Negative stars for these guys. There are to many good restaurants to take my business. I would take a big pass at this place.

Came to DC with my wife on a trip and we were craving authentic Italian like what we had in Rome 2 years previously. I was delighted to see that Tesoros served a dish that I fell in love with.. Spaghetti Amatriciana. I tried it and I can honestly say it was just like Rome!!! The sauce was unbelievable!!! And the pancetta was cooked with just the right touch. It was an unforgettable meal and extremely reasonably priced considering the quality.

My partner and I had a great night at Tesoro. The wait staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food was good, well seasoned and the staff were accommodating of the fact that my girlfriend can't eat dairy. I grew up in Europe and this reminded me of some of the best neighborhood spots back home. Sensible portion sizes and everything wasn't smothered in crappy quality cheese - which tends to be a recurring issue when I eat out in America.

Our neighborhood is lucky to have this Italian Treasure right in our own yard. Every visit to Tesoro is a lovely outing -- from the warmth and hospitality of the owners and service staff, to the delicious refreshing cocktails (try the Negroni Sbagliato!), to fresh, delicious homemade plates, including but certainly not limited to scrumptious pizza -- my most favorite in DC. The ambiance is warm and casual and the service is friendly and well-paced. I am always grateful how accommodating Tesoro is of my little ones on the patio -- making this our neighborhood go-to any night of the week. If you find yourself in the area, don't miss out on this authentic, comfortable, hospitable gem of a restaurant!

This used to be a fabulous local restaurant. Today the service/attitude of some staff/management is “couldn’t care less”, orders take forever and the food is over-priced and bland. I used to be a regular, now I’ll not go back as there are too many other local options.

This was a gem before COVID. Excellent bread, good food, good prices. Now, it is a NO GO! The Chicken Cacciatore was boring. The Chicken Marsala was not only boring, but it now comes WITHOUT PASTA as did the Cacciatore. I understand when prices are raised, but this is just plain lunacy. The bread is now OK by the way. Avoid it.

We eat there twice first time we where early and they where not open yet about 10 min the server sat us down and made use very welcome. The menu was easy to read I ordered a starter and main both was a great surprise and devoured all. The second time was the night we before leaving DC Had the Calamari Fritti (perfect) my Tagliata di Manzo med rare with Grilled mushrooms and Potatoes. to top the experience My wife and I decided to order 2 Russian mauls to my surprise this too was perfect. To anyone that is in the area this is a must. My hats off to the new owners!!!!!!!

The best new restaurant with real authentic Italian food from southern Italy and the dishes I grew up early at Nonna’s House. Angela and Enrico have brought a piece of our culinary traditions to DC!!!

Minestrone was tasteless Got it to go, so, didn't have any salt/pepper to help. Minestrone was also very greasy and not packed right, they put it in a long, flat rectangular container and it spilled all over the bag and the other food and left greasy stains on my lap. $6 side salad with big chunks of lettuce that needed to be shredded and not even 1oz of flavorless dressing. Barely a tsp of shaved carrots and 1 slice of zucchini. Marinara was also terrible, so was the bread. Wondering if the cook smokes and that's why he/she has no taste buds. Overpriced and not good.I'm not the only customer to find the food tasteless, so, either it's your cook or multiple customers have issues with their taste buds. You might check the negative reviews and adjust your recipes accordingly. I tasted old food that was past its freshness and serve by date. I could not taste any pride in what was being served.

Absolutely horrible service. We waited an hour for food which was subpar at best. Wasn’t sure what was our appetiser and what was the complimentary bread. Waiters didn’t offer any refills for drinks and basically abandoned us; he didn’t even know what we ordered when it came time for the check. I can’t say enough bad things about this place. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Will never come back

The food is amazing! Fresh ingredients, everything is high-quality! When you eat here, you’re actually eating gourmet-level cuisine in disguise. This is how you really eat in Italy; this is true, authentic ITALIAN food! This is not Italian-American food, but again not everyone knows the difference! What’s also great is the feeling of family, the treatment from staff and management/owners is one of a kind and makes you feel at home! The negative reviews don’t reflect the true quality of the place at all. I highly recommend Tesoro Trattoria & Pizzeria! If you go you have to try the Polpo Arrostito (grilled octopus), the Orecchiette con Cime Di Rapa (traditional Pugliese pasta dish), if you like white wine try the Falanghina and if you like red go for the Zorzettig! And of course don’t leave without having a shot of Limoncello!I hope you enjoy the experience and if you tried one of my recommendations , you will thank me .?

The focaccia was so light and fluffy but full of flavor! We then ordered the orecchiette con cime di rapa and OMG! I had it one time and have been coming back once a month for this dish! (It is with sausage which I love for the salty flavor but my husband doesn’t eat pork so they made it with beef and it was just as delicious!) 11/10 recommend!
