Came here on a rainy cold afternoon withtk reservations on a Wednesday. Place was empty. Turned away and staff refused to seat us because they don't take children less than 8. We our kids were 8 and 6. Glad we went elsewhere. Friends told us later food is sub par and overall

Live piano music fills the air, adding a touch of romance and enhancing the overall ambiance. But the true star of the show is the food. From the moment we walked through the door we were treated to exceptional service. The hostess, our server Deepak, and a manager all checked in on us throughout our visit, they were so welcoming and really made our night special. The atmosphere was elegant, and we were seated near the piano player and were able to listen to wonderful music all evening. For an appetizer we had crispy kale (my sister and dad’s favorite), scallops and duck kebab, all pictured in the first photo. For the main course we had Bengali fish curry, nihari gosht, lamb vindaloo, which I didn’t get a chance to photograph because we were too busy eating haha. The vindaloo is perfect for any spice lovers, the osso bucco was lovely and tender, and the fish curry was super flavorful. Finally for dessert we had gulab jamun, which was the perfect dessert to end on, light and sweet and delicious (second photo). Bombay Club is an absolute must try for anyone visiting DC.

First and foremost, it has to be said, the piano in the dining room is not the move. The pianist went from hey Jude to happy birthday to Beethoven it was all over the place...and top of being unpleasantly shrill, it was also LOUD. You had to yell to have a conversation. It made everything feel so chaotic which doesn't match the ambiance of everything else. The restaurant was clearly overbooked and we weren't sat until 45 minutes after reservation time. They were nice enough to bring one of the little apps while we waited, but it's because I had asked. It definitely helped simmer by patience the frustration and hangriness that was coming on. When a table did finally open up it was was pretty much on the the pianists' lap. We said hell no to that at that point. So disappointing as we're out of towners and we're excited about this one. We kinda had to go out of the way for it too, so I don't recommend you doing that. We went to Clyde's instead, it was pretty late at that point so that hit the spot

The very best classic Indian food on the East Coast and perhaps in the country. Terrific servers who are attentive, not intrusive. Ambiance is wonderful. Even the bartenders are terrific. Save Bombay Club for your most special events, but don't wait too long!

Very nice restaurant with gracious service, good food (and a clean bathroom :-P). I recommend this place for those who want to go to a restaurant that is a favorite yet not too crowded where you can barely have a conversation.

After a dream dinner over the holidays in 2023, my husband's birthday meal today disappointed. Beware parties of two - you'll be seated in a secondary dining room where one diner faces a wall and you miss the lovely atmosphere of the main dining room. Just moving the tables so the main dining room is in view would be an improvement. We had a thali and green chili chicken and a crab roti appetizer. Food was delicious but portions of thali so small (one bite of fish, two small bites of lamb, and 2 small bites of chicken in addition to very small portions of saag, dal and raita) I ate two cheese sticks when I got home. Service is always gracious so I have no complaints there. I would prefer to pay a bit more and leave the restaurant pleasantly full. Unfortunately for my husband this was a forgettable meal.

The service at the Bombay Club was IMPECCABLE! We were celebrating my Mom's birthday and they made her feel like the Queen that she is, from the moment we were seated until we left. The food was incredible, the live piano music contributed perfectly to the ambiance to include the attention to detail by playing Happy Birthday on the piano when they brought our dessert. 5/5 would highly recommend.

Excellent Indian Food, well deserved Michelin star with very affordable prices. Their blend of spices paired with good cocktails and a relaxed ambiance give this place a top place in my book. Will definitely return for seconds.

Had an early Valentine's dinner at Bombay Club this week. The beautiful 1940's vibe, excellent service, and delicious food will keep us coming back to this great DC restaurant.

For me, this is the best Indian restaurant in the United States. It had been too long between visits because I no longer live nearby. I will try to get back again as soon as possible. Everywhere I can easily go for Indian food is so mediocre in comparison that it will be awhile before I can try anything else.

We had such a nice time here. The food was excellent. The decor is so pretty and peaceful. The piano player was talented and the perfect volume. And our waiter was just excellent. Such a nice evening!
