What a great find!!! We were in Washington for 4 nights, and visited every night.
To us the atmosphere was so much fun. The food was excellent. But it is the staff that made it such a great place. They were all fantastic and really friendly. Special mention to our new buddy, Al for his great service.

We rented out The Bottom Line for our wedding after-party last night, and it couldn't have been a better experience. JR was kind and accommodating at every turn, and made sure the experience was exactly what we wanted. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and brought exactly the kind of attitude you would want for a milestone celebration. Thanks JR and team!

This is a favorite lunch spots my colleagues and I have been going to for 20 years. The world passes by upstairs outside the door. This is where we choose to meet for lunch. Good bar. Pub food.

This establishment understands how you get regular customers. Beatrice and Ivan were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and fun to be around. They even went out of their way to help us recover a lost wallet. We will certainly be back!

Great out-of-the-way bar/restaurant, I visit every time I'm in town. It can get loud at times (football Sunday, 5pm rush, etc.) Great food, House Burger is great!

Bottom Line is one of those rare finds in DC that immediately feels familiar in the best way. Tucked away below street level, it has that classic basement bar vibe that reminded me of the great hidden spots in Chicago and Boston. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and just a little bit nostalgic, which makes it an easy place to settle into for a casual night out.

Their drink selection leans heavily (and impressively) into mules, offering a fun variety well beyond the standard ginger beer plus vodka formula. Each one I tried was balanced and refreshing, so it is clear that this is a house specialty. The menu mixes semi Mexican dishes with classic American bar food, and while the food is not the main attraction, it is solid, comforting, and pairs perfectly with the drinks.

Service was friendly and efficient, which added to the overall welcoming feel. Whether you are stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for an evening with friends, Bottom Line delivers a reliably good time. It is a great bar with personality, solid drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

It’s the dive bar experience without being gross! Patrons of all ages but definitely a college/young professional spot. Tons of TVs to catch your favorite sporting event.
