Chai was just okay; not a lot of flavor. Oat milk available. A small but cozy space.

The Coffee bar offers excellent food and drink options. I went with a classic latte and was impressed with the latte art - the barista wrote our names! The pastries were also great. This location has a very community feel to it, like Cheers, where everyone seems to know your name. I would highly recommend it as a grab and go spot, seating is very limited!

The cortado lacked balance, with too much milk overpowering the coffee flavor, while the hot chocolate was disappointingly diluted, barely discernible as chocolate. Despite its quaint ambiance, the drinks fell short, making it difficult to justify the price. It's a shame because the potential is there, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

Best coffee I’ve tried in DC! I always feel that DC coffee is generally underwhelming but The Coffee Bar is the exception. Their coffee is great probably because of the coffee they use and the barista skills. I’ve been quite spoiled with amazing coffee shops in the cities I’ve lived before so I’m excited I found The Coffee Bar. The space is small but for a quick coffee break it works just fine.

Came before close for a mid-day coffee fix. Ordered the cardamom latte and it was alright, not much flavor. The baristas were really sweet though!

The Coffee Bar is the best coffee shop in downtown DC, and one of the few places in town that can consistently prepare excellent specialty espresso. They also consistently create and serve excellent milk-based drinks - especially thanks to the expertise of Carlos, Louis, Kate, Andrew, and the rest of the barista team.

I came in because somebody else reviewed this place as the best coffee shop in DC. Needless to say, I was skeptical. I arrived, informed them of the earlier review and implied the high expectations I had and they stared back with confidence and an aura of "its go time"I started with a flat white with Single origin Ethopian coffee, 5 stars. In the pastry case I stared at the lonely croissant and inquired to its makeup, Proscuitto and gruyere cheese they said....I committed to it before they could finish explaining it. 5 stars.I ended with a large coffee to-go, splash of cream....yummy. 5 stars. Is it the best coffee shop in Washington DC? Did they live up to the hype?Yeah, they did. I'll say best coffee shop in the area because DC is big.Don't trust me? Come find out for yourself.

Went there to do work after hearing rave reviews, only to find out that THEY DON'T HAVE WIFI! I'm not sure if this is some hipster nonsense or a cost cutting thing, but keep this in mind if you plan on going there.

TLDR: Yes yes yesI popped in here for a couple hours to work on a paper, and it was an amazing place to work. There's not a lot of seating inside but I got lucky and snagged a spot at the center table facing the bar. I love that view. Watching happy people come in and order drinks from other happy people who are happy to make them. Also, the music they were playing truly slapped. Early 2000's era jams really jazzed me up. The Barista's were friendly and even offered me a free pain au chocolate at closing time when they were packing up (Shhhh don't tell the managers). The cortado was good. Nothing to write home about itself, but nothing to complain about. I'd go back.
