Very nice ambiance with a nice selection of west African food. Overall the service was great for our large group (12).

The restaurant is nicely decorate and the music is nice. The seating is arranged to give you space. The jollof rice was served cold and it was not the traditional rice, the the wings were not seasoned at all but the sauce was great, the vegan samosas were good, the fufu was served with no water and efai soup it was dry with no pepper.

the only complaint i have is the temperature in the restaurant was very cold, others complained as well. It would have been nice to have a warmer cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was good as well.

The place is spacious, easy to move around. All the waiters were really nice. My friend and I both finished our food, that is a lot since we are both picky eaters. I can't wait to go again.

Absolutely amazing! Hosted my large birthday party here (14 guests). Restaurant was friendly, accommodating. The food was delicious, the drinks were delightful. The service was great! I was seated right away. There was not one problem. It was an amazing atmosphere for a large party. I fully enjoyed the dining experience. 10/10! Highly recommend!

CORZANN COZE

Pleasant staff and bartenders! Excellent happy hour food menu and drink selection! Definitely worth the value plus convenience of parking garage next door or street parking.

everything about the restaurant was great. The food was delicious, the server was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu, and the drinks were alcohol forward. I will definitely go back.

Went to celebrate a birthday with high expectation, but that quickly changed. The server kept speaking really low couldn't hear, took 35 minutes to get appetizer and first drink order . Once kitchen dropped food off we had no plates or silverware, so by the food was cold by time we received that. Main entree came out same thing kitchen brought food out, no silverware again after 15 minutes looking for someone finally got attention of waiter. Once gain food was cold had asked hostess to take a food back to be reheated. Who spend $60 per entree to have to be warmed up again. While waiting to get food was asked if wanted another drink. Drink never came! Once again came to celebrate birthday they stated they would bring a cake out on the house, cake came no happy birthday song or nothing after we heard them sing and place a candle to 3 other tables throughout the night. Overall service was Horrible not sure if it was new staff or what, but someone needs to oversee the staff better especially on a weekends.

Liz, our server l, was amazing. She really took care of my entire crew. She was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. She definitely added to our overall experience and deserves a raise :) The food was on point! We were all able to order several different items from the menu and everything tasted amazing. And as we were celebrating a friend's birthday, they made my friends extra special as they had a saxophone player come tableside and form of the birthday song. Food is very flavorful. Definitely recommend. And as we were celebrating a friend's birthday, they made my friends extra special as they had a saxophone player come tableside and play the birthday song for her.

It's took like an hour for them to serve appetizer, and we had dinner like around 12:30.Just a reminder if you are having a party make sure to bring cash cos y'all are paying one payment. The server was nice and very professional . The food was worth it

I was visiting Washington, DC from out of town and, as a Nigerian who both cooks and loves authentic home-style food, I was eager to try The Continent DC. The menu looked promising, especially the goat pepper soup, which immediately reminded me of my mother’s cooking and the kind of rich, flavorful dishes I often prepare myself.

Unfortunately, the experience fell short of those expectations. The pepper soup lacked the depth, aroma, and spice balance that define true Nigerian comfort food. The broth was thin rather than richly layered, and the goat meat was neither well-seasoned nor tender, leaving the dish without that soulful, satisfying finish that makes this meal special.

What disappointed me most wasn’t just the flavor, but the missed opportunity. Nigerian cuisine is bold, complex, and deeply rooted in culture, full of warmth and character. That essence simply didn’t come through here.

I genuinely wanted to love this place and hoped it would offer a taste of home while I was away, but the experience felt like a modern re-creation that lost sight of authenticity along the way. I hope the restaurant reconsiders its approach to seasoning and preparation because there’s so much potential if the heart of the cuisine shines through.
