We had the five-course dinner at The Dabney, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The space itself is cozy, intimate, and inviting the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and taken care of. Each course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, with a clear sense of seasonality and intention behind every dish. Nothing felt rushed, yet the pacing was perfect. Wonderful food and drinks. I hate cauliflower but loved the cauliflower soup! I dislike peanut butter in most food but loved the baked Virginia! Just shows how ingredients you think you don't like become wonderful in the hands of a great chef! Service was good, as were descriptions of cuisine, but not quite the level I expected for a Michelin. Getting fresh ground pepper was a challenge, for example.
