Friendly staff, and recently added a couple more Guinness taps. Really great mixed drinks and good wine list, paired with standard but tasty Irish Pub fare. Good burgers, and great shepherds pie!

If you want an authentic Irish pub experience in DC, The Dubliner is the real deal—and a huge part of that is Joe behind the bar.

Joe isn’t just a bartender; he’s a walking book of knowledge. Whether the conversation drifts into history, politics, spirits, or life in general, the guy can hold court effortlessly. On top of that, he makes one of the best Irish Coffees I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerous in the best way.

And let’s talk about skill: Joe can properly pour a Black and Tan. Anyone who knows, knows—that’s not something every bartender can pull off cleanly, and he does it with precision and pride.

Great atmosphere, classic pub vibes, and service that feels genuine—not forced. If you sit at the bar and Joe’s working, you’re in for a great night. I’ll absolutely be back.

Start it off with the potato soup. Thick and creamy with scallions on top. It had a very good depth of flavor. For my main I chose the fish and chips. Nice thick cut fries served with ketchup tartar sauce and coleslaw. My only suggestion would be to not put the coleslaw on the plate until it's not sitting in the window anymore. It was warm. But if it were cold would have been tasty. Had a delicious white Russian top it off. Came to about $50 a person. They have live music every night. The band playing the night we were there was awesome! When you're staying at the attached Phoenix Park Hotel they give you drink vouchers for wine or beer. Unfortunately for us cocktails were not included so we gave our vouchers to the next table over. Wait staff was helpful and kind.

Comfortable pub with an outdoor patio, bar area with brick floor, and old school seating area. We've been coming for years. The fish and chips have fallen off a bit, but the beef on weck and other sandwiches are great as is the Guinness.

Gem of an Irish pub right in the heart of DC. Their Irish coffees are legit! I tried the one with Wicklow Hills whiskey and it was absolutely my favorite.

The pretzel sticks were perfect. Hot out of the kitchen with a nice crunch on the outside and soft, pillowy inside.

This is definitely a must-stop spot. It's got that authentic Irish pub atmosphere that makes you forget you're in the middle of DC. Highly recommend! I'm going to stop there every time I'm in DC.

We were there very early Friday, I think we were the first customers.

The food was excellent, the service extremely friendly, and the atmosphere very lovely. Lots of Irish atmosphere, and lots of pictures of horses. We had the poached eggs and the country breakfast. Both great, both recommended. I eat a lot of food, but I couldn’t finish the generous portions.

The Dubliner is such a great lunch spot! The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the service was friendly and quick. I had the pot pie and it was excellent — perfectly hearty, warm, and packed with flavor. You can tell it’s made with care, and it was exactly the kind of meal you want on a relaxing lunch break.
Highly recommend stopping in if you're looking for a great bite and a cozy place to enjoy it. I’ll definitely be back!

Great location close enough to the Capitol, walked with three small kids. The food was good, atmosphere was good. Highly recommend and will for sure return when in the area.
