Great spot for a drink on a casual stroll through Georgetown. A little odd that they wouldn’t sit us inside because there were “reservations” and yet it was empty inside for the full hour we were there, though.
Had a great experience at the Fountain for a date night. We did the mocktail tasting and every single drink had a neat history that we learned. We also got back ground in the history of the bar and it's strong ties to DC. I would highly recommend the drinks, food, and the atmosphere!
A very nice and informative experience, I came in for the mocktail experience and my bartender was Luke. Luke was great, friendly and engaging. He taught me a lot about the history of the bar, Prohibition and how certain drinks were made. It was a unique experience one many probably don't know about. The food was also solid.
I really enjoyed the cocktail tour. It was definitely worth the money. Luke was our bartender and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Fountain Inn and signature cocktails of D.C. Luke and other staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. It was my first time here with boyfriend for his birthday. Luke and the staff made it very special. I highly recommend this location.
Best food and cocktails in an intimate setting. Sonecca is 10/10 but more importantly Amalia & Scott are the best and Christian is also good
The Fountain Inn in Washington, D.C. is a must visit Bar and upcoming Restaurant. Scott made our hangout so much fun cracking jokes and tempting in passersby and always ensuring we were happy. The beautiful patio is the perfect spot to relax, and the new spring cocktails are a fresh, diverse twist on classic drinks.
Scott also mentioned a new food menu coming soon, which sounds exciting for our next visit. The bar is clean, well stocked, and even the bathrooms are spotless. If you're looking for great drinks, incredibly genuine enthusiastic service, and a good atmosphere, The Fountain Inn is the place to be!
Shout out to Terrence, Amalia, & the amazing staff. Love coming here, the high quality, & amazing service!
Best whiskey list I’ve ever seen. Started great, small bites were tasty. But then our server disappeared. After 30min with empty glasses, we paid and left. Kind of ruined the night. But honestly, I’ll probably go back. I’ll just sit at the bar next time.
You can read through other reviews to hear about how amazing the drinks and ambiance are. Christian provided so much knowledge on the drinks as well as outstanding service. What people are not giving enough praise to is the food! My friends and I ordered the entire second page of their menu and it did not disappoint! Kale salad, risotto, and the crepes were amazing! Oh, and the spinach dip! Great portion sizes to share. We can’t wait to go back.

First time there and the atmosphere was great and the hostess was welcoming when we entered the establishment. I order a fairly expensive whiskey and the server placed the bottle and the glass in front of me which is customary. She said that they trusted that I wouldn't pour any more in my glass. The bottle had 2 cms worth of whiskey left (you'd think they'd just let you finish the bottle). A while later, the server took the bottle but inspected the bottle and my glass. I was very annoyed and felt like I was untrusted even though I selected my own whiskey which was north of $50.
For how much this place cost and the mandatory 22% tip, I expect more from the service and a little more trust in customers. Won't be going back there but hope they can work to better train the servers. Go to Jack Rose for the whiskey

Terrible Service - staff incredibly rude and tried to argue with us.
Very very terrible customer service for such a high end place

Passive aggressive personal!
Had reservations at 9:30 we showed up about 15 minutes early and told us that we would have to wait till after 10:30. I wanted to mentioned to the staff again and make sure they knew my name they had booked it on their online platform. The staff didn’t wanna hear it. - I tried to state the situation which therefore caused and overwhelmed them
Went elsewhere to Martins - and very very happy with our choice .

I wanted to love the cocktails at this place, based on all the rave reviews. Mine were mediocre at best. I even told the bartender I wasn't into really sweet cocktails, and the cocktail he made up for me was sweet, even after that feedback. The kitchen was also out of a lot of dishes/ingredients. Wondering if they were having an off night? Might give it one more try, but left underwhelmed and disappointed.
Upon arriving, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, I dont know if it was the cheese they served or vomit, but the odor inside this place as soon as you walk in was very overwhelming and off putting. It took about 20 min for someone to actually take our order after were sat. I ordered a drink and the server chuckled as he repeated it back to me (still not sure why). When I received the drink it was the worst I have ever had (no exaggeration) - our group switched to wine instead. They have a 22% service fee, which I appreciate is noted on the first page of the menu, but still hand you the handheld payment device with an additional 20%+ suggested tip in front of the server. Will not be returning.
