The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. Great vibes! We missed the kitchen window so can only speak to the drinks, but loved The Wifey and their cider. Even at a busy bar, the bartenders were attentive and quick. Never had to wait long to get an order in or get my drink. Looking forward to going back!
Had an awesome night at The Haymaker DC. Started with a Pisco Sour that was absolutely spot-on — super balanced and one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Then I had a classic Sidecar that was perfect too — great deep red color, fresh lemon, just the right amount of kick. I also grabbed the loaded tater tots with bacon and melted cheese — they were great.
