The location and decor of the place is nice enough, and because its a 2 min walk from my office, I decided to give it a go. I ordered a turkey sandwich online to pick-up but when I arrived 6 mins later, they did not have my order so I had to wait which was fine since I assumed that a $17.00 turkey sandwich had to be worth it. It was NOT! I got a hoagie roll slathered in mustard, a single slice of cheese, 3 slices of deli meat turkey (like from the grocery store), and a load of arugula. I was very disappointed and will not return for that reason, but the gentleman who assisted me was nice.

Really great coffee! Both our iced latte and hot latte were great. The food and service were also very good.

The coffee is unique, the flavor espectacular and the ceramic mug makes the excellence to the place. Besides the environment and quality of products Allison´s service has been excellent. She treats the customers with respect and professionality.

This local spot is a must-visit. With beans sourced from Ceremony coffee roasters, pastries made in house and welcoming staff at its helm, The Ministry never disappoints.

I ordered a medium vanilla latte and was impressed by both the high-quality espresso shot and homemade vanilla syrup. I can see this being the perfect study spot or place to meet friends/colleagues. I am already excited to return, as I’ve now been twice this week alone.

Generally I don’t leave reviews of places unless I have something good to say but I have been consistently disappointed by my take-away experience here on multiple occasions. My experience today was enough to warrant a review. I ordered a lemon-honey-ginger which is already fairly expensive given its simple ingredients (plus I always leave a good tip); the cup that was given to me was not only 1/3 empty space, but the cup itself was dirty. For such a contextually pricey beverage, I am immensely disappointed by my experience and wouldn’t recommend this place for take-away beverages. To counter this, my experiences dining in, or in my case drinking in, have all been fine.

A lovely place to enjoy a good cup of coffee ☕✨. Ministri has a cozy atmosphere, with modern and very calm decor, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The coffee is delicious and the service is friendly. Definitely a place I'll return to!

I really enjoyed this cute cafe! I had some time before my train, so I walked to this cafe which is very close by! Staff is very friendly and food was delicious. Highly recommend the banana bread. I’ll be back next time I’m in DC 😊

The worst place to eat near Georgetown University and in Washington, D.C. in general.
The customer service is terrible, and the food is just as bad. When it’s time to pay, they ask for tips, but they don’t even serve the food to your table. It’s more like a takeout or drive-thru place. The kitchen is oddly quiet, and you’ll wonder why... it’s because everything is made in the microwave.
This was by far the worst experience I had in Washington. Don’t go — it’s not worth it and definitely not recommended.

☕ The Ministry – Charming Coffee Spot with Great Elixirs and Toast Options

I stopped by The Ministry, a colorful and cozy coffee house located just a few blocks from Union Station, one morning on my way to a work event. I didn’t have much time to stay, but I’m already looking forward to going back for a longer visit.

The vibe is vibrant and welcoming. Their chalkboard menu features a thoughtful selection of coffee and tea, along with a few creative twists. You’ll find morning elixirs and flavored iced teas and lemonades like hibiscus, rose, and ginger.

I ordered a lemon, honey, and ginger morning elixir, which was simple but made with the perfect balance of flavor. Refreshing, soothing, and just what I needed to start the day.

In the morning, the food menu includes a variety of baked goods like banana bread, muffins, and energy balls, plus an extensive list of toasts. There are classic options like butter, jam, and Nutella, as well as more elevated choices like avocado, poached pear, and a curious one called Pink Goddess, which I definitely want to try next time. They also offer seasonal soups and salads.

The staff was warm and friendly, and there’s plenty of seating if you want to relax, work, or meet up with friends.

📍Hours: Their hours were from 8am-6:30p during the week and Saturday from 8am-12:30p

The Ministry is a lovely café worth visiting again soon.

A friend recommended The Ministry to me when I moved to DC for the summer, and I have loved it ever since. They have best lattes and the best breakfast sandwich I've found in the city, and the staff is so kind and welcoming. I will miss this place when I move out after the summer, but will be back every time I visit!
