My husband and I were visiting Washington DC for our anniversary weekend. We chose the Monocle based on the reviews. We made reservations but really didn't need them. The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu, which is good since I have food allergies. I had the branzino which was perfect, and the potatoes that came as a side were amazing. My husband said his steak could have been seasoned a little better but some salt and pepper made it perfect. Overall it was a great dining experience and we would return.

Filet mignon steak was top notch!!! The best I've ever had never thought I would have a steak that I didn't need A1 sauce. Definitely right up there with Gordon Ramsay.

Wonderful experience from the moment we stepped. We were greeted by John at the door and seated right away (had a reservation). The waiter was attentive and prompt. John visited our table and spoke about the pictured guests and made conversation with my 15 year old son. Highly recommend and will be part of our itinerary for future D.C. visits. Oh, and food: 5 stars!

Loved it! Old school, makes you want to have a Martini and a Steak. Lots of history and great Washington scene pictures and sayings. Had heard it was a Politician hangout and it did not disappoint. My only note, be sure to tell the Waiter you want the main dish after the Salad.
