I love going to the Monocle, as one of the best restaurants with old school (proper and elegant service) on Capitol Hill. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and ambience - you still know how to do it right. Your staff is still on point and I value it greatly!
Every time we come to DC, we eat here and it has never disappointed! By far the best place to get a good steak in DC. The service is always great! Something I noticed this time was that they had a bone-in ribeye instead of one without a bone, so I had the NY Strip and it was amazing!! Two of us had the pork chop and it was really good and one of us had the salmon and it was awesome! Everything cooked to perfection!! You will pay a hefty price, but it is worth every penny!! Thanks again from Oklahoma!!

Thank you for taking care of our committee dinner last night. “Yulie” was very helpful and hilarious! Everyone was satisfied with their entrees and drinks. We will book a table again!

Cozy intimate American steakhouse with great service! Great place to celebrate or reunion with friends. I had an issue with my steak and they worked to make it right and I was very grateful. Great cocktail and dessert list too!

We were ignored for 15 minutes after we were seated. A waiter only came to our table after he saw me walk to the stand and pick up menus. When he arrived he said he thought we had already been waited on. The obtuse trend continued. The only bright spot was the food. Great salmon! Won't go back.
I can see why this restaurant has been around since 1960! Very elegant and the private space is perfect for intimate but still large dinners.

The Monocle is DC through and through. A wonderful place to meet colleagues and feel as if you are a regular.
I was very impressed. This is an OLD DC staple that gets overlooked, so this was my first experience with The Monocle. WOW! Do they make you feel important. The staff perfectly times the event/meal, allowing time for drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Our food was DELICIOUS. The rockfish specials was probably the best rockfish that I had AND the potatoes OMG!! The own was also amazingly personable and so kind. He gives off the vibes of a real Maître d' from a time past. I highly recommend The Monocle and will be returning.
First time at The Monocle, and I will definitely be back. Excellent service, top notch really. The crab appetizer, the bisque and my NY steak were all fantastic.
Great historic restaurant at Capitol Hill. Impeccable service!
