Delicious meal! Service was friendly and efficient. We were having dinner before the theater and everything was prompt and well presented.
As first-time visitors, we were charmed by The Monocle. Our waiter(s) provided excellent service and provided the perfect pace for our meal. The food was exceptionally delicious. We shared the crab Imperial, my partner had the 16-ounce steak special, and I had the filet. We shared the scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach. Due to the excellent pace of the dinner, we were able to share the lemon pie! It was a classic meal, and we understand why The Monocle is celebrating sixty-five years! We will be back!
The food and service were outstanding! What a lovely place. The only down side was a couple with a very loud screaming baby, that kept up the noise for far too long. I always wonder why people bring babies to restaurants like this.
Everything was top-notch!
The dishes were delicious, the ambiance was amazing, and the service was absolutely impeccable.
Huge thanks to the staff for doing such a fantastic job!

Have been going to The Monocle for lunch and dinner, literally, for decades, since 1976. If you work on Capitol Hill, it is the perfect place for business and personal meals. The hosts and wait staff are unfailingly friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food is great and I cannot recommend The Monocle too highly.
They have great calves liver. Bless 🙏

It's an institution and when congress is in session its busy. Food is OK, not too bad, but service was awful. I guess since I wasn't anyone they really didn't care. Worth it if you like Capitol history, but beyond that it's not work it.

More than just a restaurant, the Monocle is a community of staff and ownership who truly and sincerely LOVE what they do. All of which translates into top-notch food, service and a welcoming, comfortable setting. We will surely be back when we travel again to DC.

The restaurant is lovely, the service outstanding and the food was delicious . Tablecloths, bread basket, cocktail menus for everyone at the table - they hit all the right spots for a lovely night out.
We were there at lunch time. The vibe was intriguing with political deals and handshakes all around....or so it seemed. The owner shared some great stories of past events at the restaurant. He made us feel right at home. The food was delicious.
We chose the calamari appetizer, and then both of us had pasta, one vegetarian and one clams with linguine and a bottle of chocolate and wine. It was all superb. The service was very attentive and professional.
A wonderful place with attentive service and great food. It’s the place for politicians apparently and whilst I didn’t see any, the walls had signed photographs on them. A lovely gem.
