Made a reservation for Christmas eve Dec 24, we were running few minutes late an called to notify and they said it was ok. When we arrive, front desk lady was very rude and unpleasant and said that could not take us due to management orders. We were very much looking forward to brunch with our family from out of town. But, very rude staff on Christmas Eve, zero joy and good spirits, that’s what we received. Left a really bad taste!

Posted this on Yelp, but for the Google users:
I had a Christmas Eve brunch reservation at Pembroke for 10:45 AM. I called ahead to let them know I was running late, and the person on the phone reassured me, saying, “No worries, ma’am, we’ll wait for you.” However, when I arrived at 11:02 AM with my party of five, they informed us they could no longer accommodate us because we were late.
I understand the importance of punctuality, but I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility—especially after being told it wouldn’t be a problem. Not even a two-minute grace period was given, which felt unnecessarily rigid, especially on Christmas Eve. We weren’t even allowed to sit down, leaving my group scrambling to find another option during the holiday.
If you plan to dine here, be warned: it seems you must arrive early to ensure your reservation is honored.

Very rude staff on Christmas Eve brunch. We called to notify that we’re running a few minutes late and they said it was no problem. When we arrived, they said they could not take us and the front desk lady was very rude. Very bad experience on Christmas Eve. Would not recommend and would not even give it a second
chance.

Chic. I’ve only been here for drinks, which were really good, and they also brought out tasty snacks.
High class ambiance and a sterling menu to match! We couldn't get reservations but we sat at the bar and got to order whatever we wanted so we were fine. They were.
Booked solid, I take that as a good sign. We started with a bloody mary and an expresso martini...our mixologist Dejohn was on point! Ordered Crab Benedict and Smoked Salmon with capers and bagel. Both dished were excellent.

The food was excellent, but the service was really slow. I would definitely go back, but try at a different time to see if service is better.

Our favorite Sunday brunch spot. Michele, DeShawn, Eric, Steve, Kimberly, and Carrie are the best at what they do. I've celebrated many birthdays at the Pembroke over the years and again today.
I am always impressed and humbled by the outstanding service and hospitality that I and my party receive.
Thanks again for a fantastic beginning to my birthday week.

Ambience is very nice and it’s right in DuPont circle which is great to make an afternoon of your trip downtown. We got the brioche French toast which was alright but the pembroke American breakfast did not meet expectations. Food was very bland- potatoes were cold and disappointing, the greens were unseasoned, the turkey bacon was okay. The latte was good! The service was very good.

We have enjoyed outstanding food and service at Pembroke for years. It’s reliably a delightful dining experience, be it brunch, lunch or dinner.

We had brunch at The Pembroke on Sunday, 12/01, and it was a truly delightful experience. Our table enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Bagel, Smash Burgers, Steak & Eggs, Mimosas, and Rosemary Peach Bellini. Every dish was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious.
Our server, Miguel, was attentive and gracious, adding to the overall wonderful service. A notable highlight of our visit was when I accidentally left some tickets on the table. Within 10 minutes of leaving, a staff member from The Pembroke called to check if I still needed them—an exceptional touch that showcased their attention to detail and care for their guests.
The food, drinks, service, and overall attentiveness were outstanding. I highly recommend making a reservation if you’re planning a Sunday brunch to avoid waiting. If you don’t mind the wait (ours was a little over an hour), there’s a charming Sunday Farmers Market nearby to explore, or you can relax in the cozy lobby as we did.

Steak and eggs were mediocre, for $40 it could have been better. Steak was very low end old meat, potatoes were old and dry also food came cold, I had to send it back. For service, they brought everything at once even though I asked to send separately.

We had the prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. The seafood spread was plentiful and fresh, they were putting fresh seafood out about every 5 minutes. All 3 courses were perfectly cooked apart from the octopus which my friend found to be a little on the salty side, she loved the pasta and sauce that came with it. I had the prime filet and it lived up to the definition “melt in your mouth tender”. The service was perfect, Daniel Penda who attended to us was friendly, attentive, and always had a smile on. Everyone else was very friendly and we had several people check on us at appropriate times to see that we were having a lovely dinner. I definitely would recommend for a special occasion or fancy dinner. The ambiance at The Pembroke is perfect for that.
