Dinner and service was delicious as usual, however be mindful that happy hour only pertains to sitting around the bar not other spaces within the restaurant as I learned during this visit.
Beautiful location on the water. Wonderful patio that allows dogs. Good food and excellent service.
The service was great and most of the food was very good; However, we paid $44 for a steak that was supposed to be cooked medium rare - it was overcooked, incredibly tough (hard to cut even with a steak knife!) and basically flavorless...this was very disappointing. The rest of the food was very good and the manager was especially friendly and very helpful!
The service was outstanding. Food was excellent and the view of the river while dining is very nice. Our server was absolutely excellent!
The smoked fish appetizer was good, the grilled salmon was mediocre and the "tiger sauce" did nothing to make it better. We ordered Grilled Red Snapper and they delivered Fried, the waitress changed the order which took 20 minutes to come out. The snapper had a putrid taste and the chimichurri smelled like a dirty armpit. the kale and fennel salad was tasteless. cost of this horrid event was $180 plus tip and the $20 valet parking. thank you for ruining date night with my wife!
I've dined at many of your sister restaurants — Nick's Riverside Grill, Tony & Joe's — and never once have I encountered the kind of service I experienced today at The Point. Simply put, this location is operating at a much lower standard, and today's experience was unacceptable. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and asked — very politely — if I could substitute the waffles for cornbread even if it meant paying extra. The server, Esmeralda, gave me a flat “No.” No explanation, no effort to accommodate, not even a moment to check with the kitchen. Just a blunt refusal. So I adjusted. I said, Okay, I'll order a side of cornbread separately, and you don't need to bring the waffles. Once again, Esmeralda said no. I clarified, gently: I'm not trying to complicate anything, I just won't eat the waffles and don't want to waste food. You can still charge me for the dish, that's not the issue. She again said no and insisted she was still going to bring the waffles. Let me be clear: the waffles were served anyway, untouched, just as I said. And at the end of the meal, Esmeralda had the nerve to ask if I wanted a box for them — after I said three separate times that I didn't want them in the first place. This wasn't just inflexible — it was dismissive, condescending, and frankly bizarre. I have never in my life been forced to take food I explicitly declined. It wasn't about the money. It was about being treated like my voice, as a customer, didn't matter. Management here needs a serious refresher in basic hospitality standards. This kind of behavior does not reflect the professionalism or guest-first attitude I've consistently seen at Nick's and Tony & Joe's. The Point is operating in a league far below its peers, and it shows. Train your staff. Teach them how to listen. And most importantly, empower them to treat guests with a minimum level of respect. Because what happened today wasn't just poor service — it was completely unnecessary and deeply disappointing.
This is my 3rd time here at this beautiful restaurant. The staff is still amazing and so is the food.
The ambiance was great. We visited for a birthday celebration but I think the server forgot. The food was fine. The catfish looked and tasted like cod. All in all, we had a nice visit.
We took my 23 year old daughter there for her birthday and had a wonderful experience. The food was great, especially the grilled wings and oysters. Service was kind of slow but overall the experience was great
Came in on a Monday and sat on the patio. The sunset and atmosphere of the marina made the area vibrate and alive.
Unfortunately, it took a minute for us to be served after being seated, and it was clear that communication amongst the front of the house was nearly non-existent; three different people took our drink, appetizer, entree orders. The gentleman that took our entree order (three sushi rolls) did not write the order down, and got two out of the three rolls wrong. This led to an awkward exchange in remediating our order, which took an additional 10-15 to rectify and the correct food sitting idle on the table.
We have had many spicy sushi rolls in our days, but these were on a much different level. The sushi was so hot that it was difficult to taste the different components of the roll, let alone, the fish. This made it difficult for us to enjoy the rest of our meal and conversation. But! The drinks were tasty and the oysters were great!
While we recognize it was a Monday, the lack of communication and organization amongst the front of the house did not allow us to relax and enjoy our experience. If we return, it will be for drinks and oysters. We’ll save entrees for somewhere else!

The calamari was cold and dry. The cornbread had a strong bacon flavor. The shrimp cobb salad with (iceberg lettuce) and dressing lacked flavor. Everything taste the same. The best part of the salad was the shrimp. I added a crab cake which also had very little flavor. Others in my party agreed with me. I give one star for Atmosphere because I had to fight with the gnats and flies in the window I sat next to. We all enjoyed our desserts more than the entrée.
Wonderful spot! Food was fantastic, great location on the water in walking distance of Audi Field, and excellent service. Definitely plan to go back!
Every time I visit The Point, the experience is nothing short of exceptional—and today was no different. Steven and Erika went above and beyond to take care of us, making the entire visit feel effortless and enjoyable. This spot has quickly become a go-to favorite in the Buzzard Point neighborhood. Great vibes, great service, and I’ll definitely be back again soon!
Such a great vibe
First time at the Point. Very pleased. Creative and tasty cocktails. The donut appetizer with crab was fantastic. All of our entrees were delicious with generous portions. All could have been shared. Steven, our server, was delightful. His timing was very good and recommendations are to be followed. He won't steer you wrong.
