I genuinely can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m a local and for whatever reason hadn’t visited Queen Vic before yesterday, but a friend and I decided to drop in for a couple beers and a snack. Little did we know the level of hospitality we would receive. Matt is so kind and immediately treated us like family. The bar was busy but we felt taken care of and happy the entire time. Week to decent English breakfast. Proportions of each item in the English breakfast were off (too much ham and mushrooms versus bread slice and tomato slice). Bloody Mary was not good.
The food is great! The best pub food I’ve had in years. It is not gourmet, but that’s not what you go to the pub for. The fish and chips and bangers & mash were excellent and exactly what I wanted. Well cooked and generously portioned. The service was excellent as well and I will go back next time I am in town.
