I’d really like to comment on the food, but I can’t. I went with a friend on a weeknight (I believe a Tuesday) and we arrived around 6:45. We were told we needed a reservation or we were welcome to wait. When we were told it would be about 15 minutes we said we would be happy to wait and get seated then. After twenty minutes we went back and didn’t see any staff up front, but I got a text saying it would be another 30 or so minutes. What was really frustrating was the entire outdoor seating area was empty when we arrived, but then at least three groups were seated out there when we got back. Apparently this institution also doesn’t really have waitstaff as you just order on your phone and people bring out food. So my question is, if you don’t really need a lot of waitstaff and there is seating available, why would you make a group of two wait an hour and seat multiple larger groups? It doesn’t make sense to me.
Got the parradilla for two and loved all of it - especially the sausage and hanger steak. The empanada and meatballs were additions that were also great

Some of the best food I’ve had in DC - a shame because the music was so horrible I almost might not come back. Please stop playing 100 gecs - we are not at a club and I really don’t want to listen to what sounds like techno machine guns going off constantly while I’m eating my soup. I am really not kidding; it sounded like a Japanese anime video game. So sad because otherwise this place is super cute and cozy :(

For being in the Michelin guide, I was quite disappointed with this restaurant. There is no actual "service". Order off a QR code or walk to the bar to order. The staff are kind though. They had a great Yuzu drink, and my friend liked the fish, but I found the avocado dish with chicken lacking. Overall food is okay and not super filling. Unfortunately, not looking to come back.

Pub like atmosphere with an eclectic menu. Service was pretty good, and certainly helpful and friendly. The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. Has an outside area, heated, where you enjoy the official bird song of Washington DC - the police siren.

2 stars for the nice staff. everything else was disappointing. I'm still mad about making a reservation here for 1:00 on a Saturday for brunch, not knowing that brunch ended at 1:00. My table found out too late. No one told us, and the ordering app was not up to date, so we found out as we got errors while submitting our orders. No espresso martinis or "brunch" drinks either.
Instead, I tried the loaded fries and the pork belly bowl. neither were good. Even though I was disappointed about not having brunch, I was shocked that the dinner food was bad.
I used to come here regularly, but it's no longer accessible. All cocktails are at least $16 + 4% service charge + recommend/ default 22% tip. with no server. The Royal is no longer for me, but I'm sure they're doing just fine.

For a Michelin restaurant it was a real disappointment. Food was delivered later than reast of our party. Outside dining was not very clean. I'd pass on this place.

Fantastic, unpretentious (but has every right to be!) and cozy spot in north east. The service is friendly and personable and the menu is spot on. Some of the drinks are a little whacky but all really fun to drink. Their espresso martini for sure deserves a spot on your DC lists!

Fantastic authentic food in Shaw. We came for breakfast on a Saturday and seated right away. Order from QR code making service quick and easy. We got the breakfast rice dish (10/10 so flavorful) and avocado egg sandwich. The guava pastry was delicious. As well as the coffees. Everything tasted fresh and packed with flavor. Would go back.

Honestly the food is not it. Mediocre at best. My bf burger was not cooked well at all. The ajiaco is not original. Service was ok you dont interact with them much as everything goes through tour phone. Deff not worth the price and from someone who has review tons of restaurants this was just a disappointment in all levels.

One of my favorite places for lunch/dinner in dc. Love the convenience of ordering from my phone. Food is delicious, particularly like the fish and the beef gnocchi.
