The food and drinks were below average at best. We asked if they had any bread, and the waitress said it would be a small charge, which is fine. When they brought it out, the bread was literally sourdough toast, with no butter or oil to accompany it. The waitress sold us on the Lobster bisque, which was beyond salty, loaded with corn starch, and ice cold. Fortunately, my wife got the chowder, which was much better. Their only saving grace were the oysters. These were actually very fresh and delicious. The crispy branzino, however, was yet another joke; tiny portions with awkwardly paired flavors. I would never step foot in this place again and would rather walk 2 miles in the snow to the Warf where the restaurants meet dining expectations.

The portions are really small. You have to order an appetizer to leave satisfied. The service was mediocre even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

We love The Salt Line and have visited all 3 of their DC metro locations... We had a show to attend in DC and caught an early dinner at the Salt Line Navy Yard location where we tend to start and/or finish baseball games in the summer. The Leviathan is worthy of its name in both size & quality...had the Lobster bisque, a cup of chowder, the Crab roll and the Octopus.... All absolutely great and at a good value. Can't say enough about TSL... a tight dining experience in a great location with stellar food and atmosphere... All orchestrated by an exceptional & friendly team. If you haven't yet, you should.

Great food and service, Lucy, our waitress was outstanding. Oysters and other seafood we had were great.

Honestly, the food wasn't that good. I was a bit disappointed, but the service was good! I probably won't go back.

Great service, great food, and great drinks. We have a small dog and the covered and heated patio was perfect for a late night dinner.

This spot hit the mark in every aspect. The food was soo good! You have to get the crab dip!! The fish sandwich was like that! I enjoyed the shrimp sub as well!! Drinks were delicious to top it off! I enjoyed the heat lamps in the ceiling which kept me warm, staff was super attentive, and knowledgeable!

I had high hope for driving here 20 minutes only to discover the portions are deliberately short-changing for the cost. I was told the wine was 5oz pours and after checking in my water bottle I was carrying all day, it was barely 3oz. The manager refused to listen and questioned how many sips were already taken.

Be warned… this place and management is geared to rip you off! The calamari was tough and bland.
