Going to the Tombs is our Sunday after mass family activity—love it. The food is good, and the service is wonderful.

Had an unusually poor experience at The Tombs this past weekend. This has not been our norm. Service was slow and very mediocre. Food was good and met general expectations. But what bothered us most was the unwillingness to address the problems with our draft beers. They were flat - I mean no carbonation kind of flat. We tried two different beers. Same problem. So either there is a CO2 issue or the keg is old. We were told there was nothing that could be done, which we know not to be true bc one person in our party used to work there. So it means they want to finish the kegs by distributing to kids who don't care. We didn't have to pay for the beers, but it was just disappointing that no effort was made to address the issue with customers who had a significant tab and would have had more than one beer each. Oh well.

The Tombs sets the standard for Georgetown area bar restaurants. The food is outstanding. Incredible menu and value. This time i selected the brisket and was very pleased,

The Tombs is always great fun. Great sandwiches, salad and comfort food, in a great location (for 55+years) if you're visiting Georgetown, a block from the University campus. Always a good clientele including students, parents, and alums.

Fantastic service during a very busy afternoon! So accommodating of our last minute change needing to add one more person to our reservation. Food was delicious as always. The Tombs never disappoints!

As a GU alum, I have enjoyed the Tombs' atmosphere and food for many years, Very disappointed the traditional hamburger is no longer on the menu, the "flat, well done " burger is laughable and again disappointing, I tried the 'philly cheese steak eggrolls' (?? ) absurd name and absurd creation. Very dry and tasteless, like eating sawdust, Our server Christi was delightful. Please try better with the menu offerings, enough DC restaurants are closing these days, don;t be one of them. The history and tradition that means The Tombs deserve better.

I really liked this spot! Recommended by a contemporary.... Chicken #1 is a big hit.... I got the burger this time around.

Honey Hot Chicken sandwich and Rice Bowl were also ordered at the table.

Certainly coming back in the future!

Food was greasy, but the ambiance was good. Probably best for beer and wings than a serious lunch.

This is a spot I find myself coming back to again and again. The menu is refreshingly simple and well-curated, which lets the food speak for itself—no fluff, just solid choices done right. What really sets this place apart, though, is the outstanding customer service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel welcome every time. The atmosphere has a yuppie, collegial energy—casual yet sharp, social without being loud—which makes it a great place to grab a bite, linger a bit, and enjoy the scene. Consistently good food, great people, and an easy place to like.

The Tombs allows for a lot of seating options. You decide! Bar stools, open tables, or booths in the dugout. You're guaranteed great food, but remember: there really is no quiet seating (unless you arrive when they first open). The Tombs is FULL of energy as it should be and as it has always been for the last several decades!

The food was great but the service was even better! Chelly was SO incredibly kind. She was very chatty and friendly I’m so glad she took care of my family and I! ❤️

The meal was good , but my Autumn Market Salad was comprised of spinach, not the "power 4 lettuce blend." The salmon that I added to the salad was appropriately cooked medium rare and was good. Falafel was good, as was the cheeseburger, even though it was served with cheddar cheese instead of the requested blue cheese.
