I know what you're thinking: this is a a coffee bar located in the lobby of an apartment building. It can't be that great, can it? Well, you would be wrong. This is my neighborhood coffee spot and I have been here so many times I've lost count. The coffee you get here is consistently well made. I haven't had everything on the menu, but the breakfast items (pastries and made-to-order dishes) are top notch. The funfetti cookie and classic breakfast sandwich deserve special mention. The front of house staff are incredibly nice and usually down to chat as much or as little as you'd like as they make your drink. Even better, this is now one of the first locally owned and operated coffee shops in the DC area where the workers have come together to bargain and set standards for their working conditions with management. It's well known that union-made coffee inherently tastes better because you know that baristas have power and a voice when management inevitably starts to cut corners and prioritize the profits of their budding coffee empire over the health and safety of their employees. (I don't know the owners, I just know how incentives work.) So sip in solidarity, my friends! If the quality declines here it'll be because management has decided to cultivate a hostile work environment to try and undermine the solidarity and hope it's employees have worked so hard to build.

This is an awesome coffee shop! The staff was friendly and provided quick service. The cardamom muffin was fantastic, and Wydown had some of the best coffee in the city! The location wasn’t enormous, but it had enough seating for everyone that visited when we were there. If you like coffee, make sure to visit Wydown!

Food, service and vibes are always nice. I only order for pickup. Considering it's part of a hotel lobby, I never sit to eat.

Consistently delicious food cooked up and served by a chill, caring group. Comfortable environment with plenty of seating inside the lobby of the Apollo. Mobile ordering is a breeze and I’ve never waited too long. Strong recommend.

I love Wydown! Located on H Street it is a small coffee shop where you can get work done or catch up with friends. Their coffee is great, I love their iced lattes (cinnamon one is my favorite!) and their baristas are very friendly and always seem to be chatting with customers when time allows it. Great coffee, great baked goods, and great service!

I lived before the pandemic above the Wydown and loved it. I was recently back at 14th street and I still loved it.

As far as indoor seating, this is my favorite coffee shop near Capitol Hill. They share the space with the apartment building they're housed in, which means there are lots of couches and tables and other seating options, and they're all spread out so that you can have some privacy. The coffee is decent, if a bit overpriced.

I’ve been to their 14th street location so I knew what I was going into. I always love wydown and their coffee. I’m a fan of their specialty drinks too which are always great. This time I just went with their iced vanilla latte and a cherry almond scone. The scone was so delicious, and I loved my latte as well. Since we said we’d eat there they put our drinks in actual dish-ware. There is some seating available in store, but this location is also connected to an apartment which has some seating in their lobby. We de iced to grab a table in the apartment lobby because it was decorated beautifully with all the plants. It was a great vibe and the perfect place to do some work or just catch up with friends!

I travel from afar for their egg biscuit - it welcomes me on every return to DC. And such excellent coffee from Small Planes - just the right notes. Kudos to the Wydown team.

Thank you to Dannielle and The Wydown team for accommodating my special (dozen) cinnamon roll order this weekend. The quick email responses and careful packaging was appreciated. This cafe is always friendly, usually busy, but I can always find a seat - and appreciate the outdoor heaters in winter! Hip art deco neighborhood coffee shop, delicious lattes with locally roasted Small Planes coffee, biscuit sandwiches and pastries. Look for cinnamon rolls on the weekends!

This is a trendy coffee shop that is located on h Street inside an apartment building. There's a bar counter in front of the window to people watch or at the coffee area. The staff were polite and knowledgeable of the beans and offered recommendations. The cinnamon roll was delicious, and the mocha was equally as delightful for a Sunday morning. No long wait, the upstairs area was very nice with lake windows, lots of green foliage, tables, accent, arm and polish chairs... very nice and worth a 2nd visit coming from the suburbs.
