While the ice cream at Thomas Sweet was delicious, the overall experience was dampened by subpar service. Despite the tasty treats, the angry and unfriendly service detracted from the enjoyment. Hopefully, the establishment can improve its service to match the quality of its delectable desserts.

A large selection of flavors, so choice can be difficult (in a positive sense)There is also frozen yogurt, which allows for variety. Unfortunately, card payment is only possible from 7 dollars, which forces you to order more than you want. Overall, I would recommend it.

My husband has been coming here since he was a kid and talking it up. We visited tonight with our kids and it did not disappoint and was even better than he hyped it up to be. The blended ice cream with flavors was incredible and enough to share. We will make Thomas Sweet a tradition every time we're in DC

The ice cream is a little mediocre here. It's not bad, but it is kinda lacking in flavor. Also, you can only try two flavors - which when the first two you try aren't great doesn't make you want to get a scoop. The coffee oreo is their "top seller" and it's not bad but again, lacks flavor. The service is just fine - but really if someone didn't like the two flavors they sampled it seems like you should let them try a third especially when there's no line. The ambiance is fine - a little sterile with three large cafeteria like tables stuffed on the side. There was also a flavor or two in the display with tons of ice crystals.

Still so yummy! My favorite is still coffee Oreo! Love the freshly made waffle cones too. I will stop by when I'm in DC.

The best ice cream in the world. I've gone here since before I can remember, and every time I'm back in DC my trip isn't complete without some bittersweet chocolate. Not much more to say besides that.

Thomas Sweet is a DC institution and a solid spot for some classic ice cream flavors. They offer a variety of flavors, and you'll always see the classics here. Although the price is high for a regular cup, they are generous servings. I paid $8.50 for my medium cup, but there were 4 scoops of ice cream in there! They also have a variety of toppings you can add on, as well as sorbets, frozen yogurts, and cakes. Given how packed the place was, I thought the service was very efficient. While it's not necessarily a spot I'd travel across the city to get to on its own, it's definitely a good neighborhood treat when I'm in Georgetown.

Great ice cream and chocolates. Customer service was good. Parking was a small challenge.

Not the best service (mumbling, laughing while we ordered, distracted, etc.) The ice cream isn't bad, but I got the smallest cup (a small frozen yogurt) and it was $8.50. There are no signs for prices anywhere and when I asked about prices he didn't have anything to show me. if you're in the area and hankering for ice cream it's alright, but expect to pay a ton. There are lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. The ambiance is very basic ice cream shop. It is a bit dirty inside (soft serve machines not cleaned, sticky tables, dirt & garbage on floor) which I understand in busy times but we were the only ones there for most of our experience.

After waiting for a few minutes in line, I was greeted by a worker who literally SNAPPED and said “next” with a blank face. I’m not waiting in line and paying $5-6 for one scoop of ice cream and some attitude. NEXT, he WAS NOT WEARING GLOVES. The same hands that were scooping my ice cream were touching cards and cash. Sigh, maybe it added extra flavor. In any case, the ice cream was good but wasn’t great after that experience.

Very cute place for ice cream. Some of the finest ice cream I’ve ever enjoyed. It is very rich. Paying cash is what they prefer, but they accept credit.Parking: Find street parking or a garage in GeorgetownKid-friendliness: Great for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Not exactly wheel chair accessible. There is a step to get in.
