Small little restaurant and pub, it’s got a nice bar too if you want a quick happy hour.
We were doing a college tour and decided to stop in this restaurant for lunch. Everything was okay until I noticed what appeared to be a maggot or some kind of very small off white worm creature on my plate. The meal was already completed when I noticed it. The waitress also saw it. It was pointed out to one of the managers who was very apologetic and accommodating. However, I was so disgusted and had so many awful thoughts about what I consumed that I couldn't accept her apology. This meal literally made my whole being sick!!! This is so upsetting and worrisome!
My first time here. Great happy hour prices for the food, not so much for the cocktails. I didn't get a drink b/c I didn't see anything I liked. Most of the mixed drinks had brown liquor, which doesn't suit my palate. However, I loved loved loved the chicken tots! Served in a little Chinese food takeout box, sauced evenly, and had a great flavor. The Thai chili was spiced perfectly, w/just the right amount of heat and sweet. I even got a box to go. For the most part, I enjoyed just hanging and talking w/my coworkers.
Amazing service. My volleyball buddy played 4 hours before coming in and were thirsty and famished. Even though the kitchen was closed, staff brought us leftover tots for free and a full pitcher of water. The beer was great too. Cheers to Peyton and the cooks.
Great college vibe, server was brand new and still provided good service. We’d go back again.

Bar food is above par. Service thru app is easy. Orders arrive quickly -which is surprising for how packed it was in there. Totally recommend this place.

Visited this restaurant about 9 years ago and had a totally different experience. Service was really lackluster. Table dirty Waitress billed our card for another meal (thankfully removed it). Food was mediocre; service slow. Portion sizes were huge. Had the pork sandwich; it was just ok. It's in a great area

Food is great, no espresso coffees though, a bit pricey, but it's DC. Outdoor seating is a big plus. Again, the food and the service were good!

Good American food, large portions. Very rustic furnishings. It is relatively loud there and not suitable for intensive conversations.

Nice restaurant in a central section of town, in an old building with some history to it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, some background music at a pleasantly low volume, the service was friendly and efficient, the food was very good - we enjoyed our taco salad and desserts (keylime pie and brownie sundae). The place is popular, it pays to reserve (it can be easily done on line). The bill for the two of us was $84 (inclusive of a 3.5% surcharge clearly indicated in the dining room). We will go again if we are back in DC.

Started with tomato soup, which was great. After that we got MacCheese (2x) and it was sour, not what we expected. We send back two almost full plates and not a thing was mentioned by the staff.
Beer and drinks where good, but would not eat there again.

The nachos are a misnomer. It's more like chips and guacamole. Most of the chips came out dry so we asked for some extra cheese. $3. I'd prefer a more transparent menu. Just call it loaded guac with a $3 add-on for cheese.
The 3.5% surcharge gives the impression the proprietor doesn't know how to do pricing.
We go almost every week when it is our Volo season. Our go to are the totchos which are tater tot nachos or the boneless chicken which comes in a cute Chinese take out box. The service is hit or miss. Because it is in the GW area, a lot of the servers are new and young (high turnover) so you just can’t expect service like you would expect to find at a Michelin star restaurant, but I would hope not if you are going to this place in the first place. It delivers regardless!
