My partner ordered sushi from here for dinner, and our kids are crying from hidden wasabi in all the rolls. Who hides wasabi in sushi rolls!!! Will never order again and do not recommend to anyone. I called to return it and told I had needed to put in the memo line not to put wasabi in rolls. Awful experience and inedible food.

There is wasabi hidden in the sushi rolls, do not order! My kids love sushi but burning their mouths and crying eating takeout from this awful place. What a waste of money. Called them and I was told that I need to somehow know only this place hides wasabi in their rolls and to put in the memo line “don’t put wasabi inside the rolls.”

This was the best sushi I have ever had. My father in law has been to Japan several times and he went on and on about how incredible the quality was. We were not expecting such incredible sushi, so fresh and delicious!! Truly an unforgettable experience.

Worst sushi I’ve ever had, never coming back! Service was horrible & the woman that was assisting me was of no help. Do not spend your $ here, there are a ton of sushi spots in DC and the dmv area I will not be coming back here again.I’m upset I wasted my time & money here.Unsanitary and a risk of getting sick.

Me and my bf ordered sushi lover for two and look at this visual. Not even a look but the taste was perfect. Raw fishes were fresh and spicy tuna roll was full of flavor and California roll was just perfect. I’ve had a lot if sushi in U.S., Korea and Japan but this was the top5. Don’t hesitate to try sushi and roll in this restaurant. High google review would just prove the reason why. (There’s no salmon in sushi lover for 2 cuz I asked them to change into other ones!)It is a Japanese restaurant with a Korean owner. The menu was not flimsy and had some core dishes that looked delicious, but we were so hungry that we ordered the sushi boat for two right away. It was $55, and I was really surprised when I saw the sushi that came out. It was so delicious and the portion was huge, really!! The sashimi was the right size, not so thick or thin that it was difficult to chew, and it had just the right amount of wasabi in it, so it was really delicious. Ordering nigiri in the US was always too expensive, but here, it was great to be able to taste the sushi and rolls that are commonly known in Korea in the right proportion. Yes. There is a reason for the high Google rating. The lady who served us was also very kind. If you are a Korean traveling to Washington, I recommend you to visit. Oh, and the reason there is no salmon sushi in the picture is because we can't eat salmon, so we asked for something else!

I ordered a sushi lovers plate at 7:30pm and it said it should be ready by 8:30 and I went to goPick it up and there was a line to the door of DoorDash, and online orders saying they are an hour behind. They close at 9:00pm btw. I asked if they started to make it so I can cancel, they did so I waited. Me and some others waited past 9 but got our food in the end, and despite the wait. The food quality was top notch and they didn’t sacrifice quality despite how busy they were. So even though I waited like 30-40 minutes, it was worth the wait.

Never received my food after waiting one hour and 40 minutes. Still waiting on a $112.92 refund. Extremely disappointed in this business.

I have yet to find a price to quality ratio as good as Torai sushi. This is some great sushi for a decent price. The fish is so fresh and flavorful. Perfect rice to fish ratio. The spicy tuna is as good as it gets. I also love the salmon. Just about every sushi here is pretty good, have yet to taste a bad one. It's a lil mom and pop spot and they are so kind and caring. My go to sushi spot even though I live in Maryland.

I located this restaurant via Google. Read the reviews and glad I gave them a try! To my surprise it was an intimate space, however, I was greeted upon entry & seated to dine in. I visited during lunch hours so I browsed the lunch specials, they were decent. I decided on the Chicken Ramen, Salmon Nigiri & Yellowtail Sashimi. Everything was delicious. It was my first time trying Yellowtail and didn’t care for the taste but the polite waitress brought me another piece of sushi to try. I couldn’t make out the name but it was delicious. I really appreciated her wonderful customer to ensure I enjoyed my meal. 10-10 recommend!

One of my favorite sushi spots in DC. The sushi always has fresh ingredients and their rolls are good sized for affordable prices. Love the alligator and dragon roll the best. Smooth and easy process for takeout as well. Highly recommend carry out from Tori!

Do not be mistaken by the size of this little hole in the wall - it is some of the very best sushi in DC! They have amazing lunch specials, and I never order anything other than the chirashi special because their fish is next level fresh. It's also an incredibly generous portion! The interior is cute and intimate with several tables and a counter bar. I love eating lunch there and have been constantly impressed by the freshness of their takeout. Though there are other sushi spots nearby, this one is undisputedly the best.

I have gone here almost every day for months. It's always fast service. It's always delicious. I've gotten almost every roll and a poke bowl once. It's a creat local sushi spot and I've gone to other places in dc and haven't had the same experience. It's cute inside. Not a large amount of tables but for a little intimate date it would work.

This particular visit was on a Friday night and I was getting my sushi to go. It took more than an hour for them to prepare my request. I was told I would have to wait 40 minutes. Very disappointed. Won’t be back even though the food is normally good.

My new fav delivery sushi spot. Have door dashed from here a few times in the last few weeks and it is SOLID. Priced similarly to other sushi spots in dc (cheaper if you eat there im sure) but the quality is really significantly better. The 4-in-1 boxes are a great deal and the sushi combos are great quality without filler options. Love the taste of their salmon. Have never eaten there so can't speak to service or ambiance but hope to one day!
