I have been coming here for years and I always love it. Today I was enjoying my lunch when this absolute Karen came in the restaurant. She came in yelling about everything. The food she wanted wasn’t on the menu the way she thought, the price was wrong, and many other things holding up the line, she was absolutely over the top about it all. She ordered her food and told them she was going across the street and would be back and they should have the food done when she got back. She was gone 4 minutes and walked in yelling, “did you not start cooking my food because I left!?” They obviously were making her food.

The good folks working today were patient and kind as they could possibly be. Next time you go if you love this place, make sure to tip the staff more than usual - they deserve it.

This place may be small, but it's delicious! The plantains and Cuban sandwiches pack a wallop of flavor. It's best for take out as seating is minimal.

The place is absolutely FILTHY! And overpriced. Soon as you walk into the door you have a smell of mildew that should have been my sign to turn right back around. My food also took almost 20 minutes to be ready and when the man came out the back with a bag I asked him was that mine and he ignored me and walked passed me. Now about how filthy the place is… chileeee when I walked in there the floor tiles is caked up with dirt, the bottom of the doorways have some black stuff on it that looks like mold, you can see the wall of the kitchen by the register and it’s grease everywhere on the walls. I should have took pictures but the cooks were walking back and forth so they would have seen me. I’m honestly dismayed and shocked wondering how they are not shut down yet and why they have so many good reviews on the food network just to come to a disappointment overall 1/10. ??

I did not expect too much out of this quiet, unassuming location. but I got corrected once I got my food.

Going in, I never really liked pupusas. I was convinced to try them out once again here. I ordered the Pupusa Platter with beans and fried yucca as my two sides. These pupusas were game changing to me and blew my mind. They were cooked to crispy perfection and the the cheese was the cherry on top. Fried yucca was deliciously crunchy and the beans were a nice mild dip before heading back.

While the location does not stand out too much, the food definitely did.

Sr. Canales and his family have owned and run this place for many years. My family was blessed to have them cater for two events we hosted, and attendees were thrilled when they recognized the food. Tortilla Cafe is a local staple and gem.

Visited this place June 14, 1024. Worse place: the place is filthy dirty, crawling fan, walls, greasy and smelly. The worse customer service, the cashier was most concern on her time to close than providing the service evethogh it was only 4:30 and they close at 5 pm. I have came here before

I found this place on google and came here using Waze since I get lost in DC. The place looks good clean the service is good as well. The menu has a lot of stuff to order. But since I was in my lunchtime, I decided to get something quick like a burrito. Burrito taste very good that I even forgot to take a picture of it. I will take a picture the next time I go there.

Parking: You have to be very patience to find a parking space to go to the place

I truly enjoy this place. I come here often to get the same dish. I grab their 3 carne asada tacos. It’s one of my favorite spots to pick up tacos. Very authentic. I have had their paposas (not sure if I spelled it correctly) and they are great also. The service is kind and friendly. It seems like a family own business.

While touring DC we discovered this place. I ordered the Tex Mex burrito platter of Beef and Shrimp and horchata juice. My friends tried the popusas and carne asada quesadillas. In the end they made us coffee! Rosarito and Rodrigo excellent hosts! It's like eating at home!
