We lived in DC for several years and fell in love with Tortino! Food is amazing! Service and ambiance are excellent. We return every time we are in town. We had a 7pm reservation on the first night of our current visit! We'll be back when we return in April!
I decided to try this restaurant because they have homemade gnocchi. I tried to call and move my reservation by an hour, but the seating was not available so I expected the restaurant to be packed when I arrived. It was a Sunday night and the place was basically empty. They servers were attentive. The gnocchi was passable but the ricotta cheesecake was exceptional My biggest issue is that the manager/owner sat at the Bar on the phone, not interacting with guests at all. Which...
First time at the family run, neighborhood gem. Will certainly return. Warmly greeted upon arrival. Service is warm and friendly, as you'd expect at a family run place. Wine list is good. All the dishes were good, except one : the pasta alla norcina was far too greasy.
