Went to Trade tonight and I was amazed with the music in the back room. The crowd was great and it was unbelievable they didn’t charge a cover to get in! If you’re gay and looking for a good time like the days of Town, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Plus, the customers are the good looking crowd from Vida, etc. Definitely worth making Trade your night spot. Well done and thanks! It’s definitely worthy of a stellar review! 💯

I support this bar, it’s a fun time. However, I cannot condone their use of dolphin symbols, and their acceptance of these ocean rats. I feel unsafe. Sharks only. Please course correct, thank you.

Just stopped in for a glass of wine 🍷 with a buddy who was familiar with the place. It was definitely busy in there but the vibe seemed chill. The music came from 2 large TV that played pop music videos, so that was interesting, and the wine was ok, it was a cab that I’m not familiar with, but I didn’t pay, so I can’t complain 🤷🏾.

Once a great neighbor they are now a scourge with a loud crowd keeping neighboring buildings awake till 1am and later since they doubled their patio size. Please do us a favor and avoid them

Used to be a fun, gay dive bar with a diverse crowd and a punk vibe. But, after the recent expansion it is now just another typical DC gay bar. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Turned away at the door because my black friend was “swaying back and forth” which meant he was “too drunk to be let in”. Door staff need to address their inherited and inbred racism: I’ve never been turned away at the door for how drunk I’ve been and I’m white; but my friend was turned away for being drunk and a black man.

I'm truly disappointed to write this, especially since I genuinely like Trade and usually enjoy the good vibes of the venue. However, an incident on July 5th completely ruined my experience and left me quite shaken.

As I was leaving, simply holding a cup of water, a bouncer aggressively grabbed my necklace, physically pulling me back inside to take the cup. The force was so significant that my necklace snapped, and I was left with a noticeable bruise on my neck.
There was absolutely no need for such aggression.

The bouncer's actions were shockingly rude and utterly unprofessional. To make matters worse, no apology was offered for the physical harm or the distress caused. It's incredibly disheartening that what is usually a great spot was overshadowed by such an unprovoked and violent encounter with a staff member. Management at Trade needs to seriously address this individual's behavior and ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

It's a strange space indoors but the staff are friendly, and the outdoor space is great when the weather permits. Always a place i go to when i visit DC and a place I will regularly return to. Great happy hour specials.

My favorite part of visiting is sitting at the front window and watching the bros awkwardly walk in thinking it's the upstairs bar and getting all worried their friends could see them walking into a gay bar :) We all know they need not worry because they would be welcome here though!

Were you looking for a queer bar? You found it. This place is exactly what you expect it to be from the bartenders who remember all the locals to the occasional lurkers that are just curious about drag race trivia.

We love having Trade as a DCGFFL sponsor! The support means the world to our league, and it's become one of our favorite spots for team socials. The atmosphere is always electric, the drinks are fantastic, and it's the perfect place to dance the night away. Grateful for the partnership and looking forward to many more seasons together!
