The food here was above and beyond what I expected. Not that I thought it wouldn’t be good. Just didn’t expect the explosion of flavors from each dish I tried. I had the doubles and goat rice platter. I’ve never had doubles and curried goat with so much spice and depth of flavor before. Highly recommend this restaurant. The curry is amazing. Will definitely be back. Service is a little slow but they are a new restaurant so they gotta work out the kinks. Again, highly recommend.

I just got back from Jamaica and was excited to see the Jerk Chicken on the menu. It turned out to be the BEST, most flavorful jerk chicken I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender!! The friend plantains were delish, as was the Mac N Cheese. The Roti w sides (bussupshut) was fun and flavorful—best Dhal Ive ever had as well. I know it’s a lot of “best evers” but I was that blown away w the quality and taste of the food. Service was great. I washed it all down a Rum Punch 😋 Thank you! Ten stars!!

First, we did a wine tasting in the cafe. It was lovely and there was live music playing there is a limited menu in the cafe so we chose to close out and go upstairs to the restaurant to eat.
The food is incredible. The cocktails were too sweet for our taste.
Unfortunately, one of the items we ordered never arrived at our table and several of the items were essentially tossed down on the table by the server.
Overall the meal was quite expensive compared to other similar menus and the service was not great.
I think with more time open perhaps the service issues will get ironed out.
The food shines so I hope everything else catches up.

Highly anticipated because I have been walking past it for months and it did not disappoint! We got drinks and appetizers for happy hour and I am so excited to come back for more food. Everything was so delicious, the drinks and staff were really amazing!! I desperately need this place to stay open selfishly so please go support them!

I was really surprised at how good this place is. They've only been open for a few weeks, but the food was legitimately fantastic. I had the jerk tofu and vegetables. The spinach was cooked perfectly, as was the tofu. The peas and rice were a little underwhelming, but that was only thing I could find fault with about the food, which was otherwise perfect.
They could work on their ambience a little bit. The place is decorated beautifully, but the music is a bit loud, and the lights are a bit too shrill / bright.
Honestly, I will definitely come back, as I was delighted with the food. I hope the music is a little quieter, but otherwise, this place is excellent.

🌟 **Review of Trini Vybez** 🌟
If you’re searching for an extraordinary dining experience in DC, look no further than Trini Vybez. This gem of a restaurant transports you straight to Trinidad and Tobago with every bite. The food is absolutely outstanding and never fails to impress.
I had the pleasure of indulging in their curry shrimp, oxtail stew, doubles poroughlie, and a handmade drink called the Maracas Sunset Breeze, meticulously crafted by Nikki. Each dish was exquisite, brimming with authentic flavors that made me feel like I was dining on the islands.
What truly sets Trini Vybez apart is the love and care that the owner infuses into every meal. You can taste the passion in each dish, and the warmth of the staff makes you feel like family. If you’re longing for a divine, home-cooked meal in a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. Trust me, it’s an experience you truly will not want to miss❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm Trinidadian and live very nearby, so I've been waiting patiently for Trini Vybes to open!
I finally tried it and am very disappointed. To begin with, the doubles is pretty much the most standard Trini street food you can offer. It's known to be a very cheap street food and my favorite Trini food. I'm extremely sad because this might be the worst doubles I've had. The bara (bread) was super dense, not fluffy at all, and quite rubbery. On top of that, it was $9. I've had doubles at both elevated Trini restaurants as well as street food joints, and never have I paid $9 for a single doubles. On top of that, it was just a very bad doubles. I ordered pepper sauce on the side as well and they completely forgot to include that in the order.
We also got the curry goat roti platter, and it was so incredibly salty that I unfortunately could not even eat it. The roti was maybe the smallest roti I've ever seen, not nearly enough for the amount of food in the platter, which was still a small amount for the price.
On top of that, they forgot to include the sorrel in my takeout order, and it was impossible to get them on the phone for a refund once I got home and realized.
I'm so so disappointed because I had very high hopes. I'd also love to try them again because I would love for a small Trini business to succeed, but unfortunately it just isn't sitting right with me the amount of money I spent ($80+) for such disappointing food that I couldn't even finish.

So it’s hard to find some authentic trini food in DC. So this was a yes for me immediately!
So I ordered the drink that had gin in it from the get go and enjoyed it.
Got the pholourie and was just so happy! Authentic and warm. Asked for some mango chutney on the side and was told it’ll be extra. The menu says up to two sauces and says no where about an additional charge so that was kind of confusing but had to pay so did. But I loved the basket!
We also got doubles. Again flavorful and authentic. Loved it as well.
Now this meat platter is one for the books. Where else we gonna find this for under $40! I got the goat chicken and oxtail and this comes with rice, cabbage and plantain. It was amazing! It was sooo good! I really enjoyed everything!
One of their drinks even has a little light up show!
My friends enjoyed their drinks and we also ordered some tasty green tea shots which were super yummy! The bartender is super friendly and makes great drinks! She’s a great addition to the place because you know we love some drinks! The walls are red so this made me feel at home
Room for improvement is there server. I mentioned this there as well. He just needs some more training- there was confusion about orders, how to insert them in the machine- we ended up writing our orders on a piece of paper. Then like asking for something required a reminder and it just slowed us down a lot!
I feel like with carribean places you know I give grace lol but there was only like three other groups in there- not a huge crowd so if it was any more people I could see more people being unhappy.
When it came time to pay there was issues with the machine and my total was way too high after everyone closed out and the bartender stepped in to rectify the situation so thankful for her.
If the food wasn’t perfect I would probably give a lower rating but I can’t with the food tasting as good and authentic as it did! I will definitely be back!
We also had ran macaroni pie and I asked for a side of oxtail gravy! Again 10/10.
Columbia heights can be super busy so be mindful of the time you go (like I should’ve never been driving in Columbia heights around five knowing all that traffic!) but I did find street parking so there’s hope!

I went yesterday to give them a try, overall it was good, great staff. I only have 4 stars because the good was cold and felt heat up in microwave or freshly made.
