Truluck's Ocean's Finest Seafood & Crab

Uneven service. Never got my cocktail while sitting at the bar yet was charged for it and had to ask to have it taken off. Once seated at the table, server didn't return to offer more drinks, the bill, dessert ... We just sat there for a very long time. Food was outstanding. I had the Sea Bass. Decor showed significant age. All the seats in the bar were shedding pleather.

We had a wonderful time and the atmosphere was amazing ! From the time we walked in until we left we were taken care of. However our server could have done a better job of checking in with us , we had to wave him down twice. The live music was really good . The chicken was a little salty for my liking but everything else was soooo good ! Please try the sangria you won't be disappointed.

First time here and definitely not the last! Arrived early for the fabulous happy hour and we weren't disappointed! Incredible service and drinks. Then at 6pm music started and we moved upstairs for our dinner. From start to finish our dinner truly exceeded expectations. Our server, Liam, was also amazing. And my baked Alaska bonus dessert was delicious. Finally, the wonderful manager, Anthony Ray ended our evening with a complementary bottle of birthday champagne. Our entire experience was exceptional and among the best of our dining experiences in DC.

We came together for a celebratory meal and the Truluck was perfect. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, cocktail and wine. The piano bar singer was a perfect addition to the night.

The restaurant did a great job in setting the tone for a romantic ambiance. I recommend going if you want a romantic date night. I also recommend for seafood lovers too.

Always a great experience at TruLuck's. Paul is an amazing and friendly server. The food is outstanding and the carrot cake to die for.

I went during restaurant week on a Thursday night. The service was great the drinks were good and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the mashed potatoes 👌🏾

First time dining here and we will definitely be back. Everything was outstanding! All the extra special touches reminded me of how elevated dining experiences used to be. The food was outstanding! The miso Seabass was one of the best dishes I've ever had. We had the Baked Alaska for dessert and usually I'm not a big ice cream person, but this may be one of my favorite desserts ever. We don't live in a city that has a Trulucks (unfortunately), but we will go out of our way to dine at a Trulucks when we are traveling to a city that has one.

Our waiter -Paul was excellent the knowledge he shared about menu items and his drink favorites that were not on the menu! The food was good too! Def going back!

This was my second visit to Truluck's. The first was shortly after they opened. The service has improved during the intervening time, unfortunately the food has not. The food is mediocre. In a city like DC, I am surprised they have survived. Yes, it was the first night of Restaurant Week. The lobster bisque was cold without a rich flavor. The tomato salad which the server recommended and assured us the tomato was at peak missed the mark. It was a winter tomato which I would not have served on a sandwich. The salmon entree requested as medium had to be sent back to be cooked further. The scallops and shrimp were cold. The dessert of key lime pie was hugh even though the menu said petite. I felt the size of the dessert was an attempt to make up for the meal. I will give the restaurant credit for menus that light up so that you can read them. The manager and host need further experience. You could tell they were not truly experienced.

The ambiance was very nice for a friends outing or date. The service was great and the food was amazing. Our first time visiting but I would definitely go back.

Great overall experience. The food and drinks were fantastic; sides were large portions so easily shareable; there was a pianist/singer which lent a nice ambiance to the place, and service was great. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and truly romantic. The food was exceptional, and the customer service was outstanding. It is the perfect place for repeat date nights, girls' nights, and family dinners.
