Dietary restrictions: Peanut allergy friendly. Just ask an employee or chef.

The food was mediocre at best. The people were nice but for the same price you can get better food at a restaurant. Not worth a visit.

Vegetarian options: There is very little to eat for vegetarians. Not worth it. I would rather pay the same amount for a better meal at a restaurant.

Several different ‘food bars’ heavily weighted towards Asian choices (but not exclusively Asian). Atmosphere of a college casa. Clean, reasonable priced and the staff were friendly and helpful. Small hassle to get in the building (metal detector, show ID) but worth it.

Good for: large groups when you forgot to make a lunch reservation and want somewhere to sit.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend.

It’s a cool experience to go here and there’s tons of seating, but the food itself is pretty mediocre. I got both hot and salad buffet, and items ranged from not good (tuna salad, Salisbury steak) to tolerable (Mongolian beef, Mac and cheese, wings). The one good item I tried were the sweet plantains.

People say it’s an affordable lunch option, but as someone who works in the area - there are tons of places in the area with quite good food for just a little more money. It’s really not that much cheaper.

Not sure why, but I had high hopes for this place and thought it would be fun to check out for kitsch value.

I should have stuck with the buffet bar, but changed my mind at the last minute and went with the banh mi which turned out to so soooo inauthentic.

The guy that made my sandwich was kind, but seeing that they didn’t even have fish sauce or pate made me want to abandon my order entirely. The bread wasn’t even a baguette but more like a hot dog bun in taste and texture. Didn’t want to hurt the guy’s feelings so I just paid and ate it in the large and uninspired dining area, while I held back tears of grief.

I “get” that it’s basically an office cafeteria and prices were fair, but I don’t know, I guess I was expecting more pizazz or to be educated about the nutritional value of my meal or maybe have more authentic ethnic options, lolz.

Some good variety, basic cafeteria food. Was hoping for more healthy options being in the USDA building.

The food is over priced and of poor quality except for the fruit. (Which is 7.99/lb) The trays, tables, and chairs are dirty and greasy. Really embarrassing for the USDA.

Very disappointing for an agricultural center. The Mac and cheese gave my friend a stomach ache, and the chicken tenders are practically undercooked. The fires are soggy and have no salt. Do not recommend. The best thing here was the people working the grill restaurant at least from my experience.

Traveling with a school group, this was our lunch stop one day. By far the worst food I had the whole trip. We received a voucher for our lunch telling us the different options available for us. Once inside a gentleman told us about the salad bar option and food bar option. I chose chicken tenders and fries. The chicken looked and tasted like it had been cooked the day before and the fries were soggy. You receive a small drink, with no refills, which could be drunk in just a few sips. Highly disappointing, especially for our USDA...

Not what I was expecting! The chicken was more like dried chicken jerky, the fries were rubbery. Highly disappointed!

Food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. Price is per pound and ends up $25-28 per person for low quality cafeteria food. Could have had a nice sit-down lunch somewhere for what this costs. Very disappointing.
