I love the food here. It was so delicious and fresh each time. The people that work there are nice too ?? It is hard to find good Japanese Restaurants these days. Too bad I forgot to take a picture (after I ate all the Rolls and Sushi). Otherwise, I would have post it here. Hopefully, next time I remember to take a picture before I finished the food.
This place serves the most delicious sushi I've ever tasted! The service was exceptional - the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for great food and a warm atmosphere. ??

I ordered from Umi a couple of times in the past, and the food is always delicious. My usual order is the Sashimi Regular with a side of green salad and white rice, as well as an order of pork gyoza. I love the taste of their rice and the dressing they use for the green salad. The fish in the sashimi regular is also always extremely fresh whenever I get it. I’m more of a salmon person, so I do ask to them to replace the white tuna with salmon, and it’s just delicious. This is definitely my go-to spot for sushi since moving to DC a few months ahhh.

Haven't reviewed much but this place disappointed me so much so starting here... I got the Sashimi Deluxe. Seemed like a good deal, and they were offering $10 off, but the pieces of sashimi were among the smallest I've ever seen, and I was immediately taken aback by a gassy odor when I opened the lid. Most all of them had a weird aftertaste. Some fishy, and some like gasoline? I love sashimi and wish I hadn't spent my Uber Eats here. I also got it as delivery, and for 15 pieces of sashimi, one half-full condiment cup of soy sauce seemed skimpy... but then again the pieces are so small, maybe it doesn't matter! But I really don't want to finish the sashimi anyways...I also got the friend banana, which just isn't very good. Total mush, couldn't hold a fork to it, and the breading is odd.Quite frankly, it simply wasn't good. Sometimes a deal is too good to be true.

Tasty sushi rolls. Rice is good quality. The California Roll and Gozilla were good. Creamy crab roll was a bit too rich in cream, but still tasted good. Chicken Pad Thai also quite delicious.

Sushi is subpar, nothing special. I have done delivery orders from this place and the wait times are unreal. Prepare to wait well over 1.5hrs if you order on a busy night. They need to be more organized or stop accepting online orders if they can’t handle the volume. It’s unfair for both the drivers and customers to have to wait that amount of time.

Food poisoning. This is what happened to me after eating just a little of the food I ordered from Umi. until I felt something wrong with the food.I had ordered a few things from this restaurant and The Salomon fish was spoiled.The avocado was Black!!!!!I have ordered the food around 7:45 pm2 hours before closing.That is so obvious that the " person" who made the food was not into preparing food before closing.Be careful with your health!All the items I ordered were not fresh and were spoiled food!!!!have the receipt.Very disappointing

Also ordered a shrimp tempura roll, which I often get from other places, and it was chock full of lettuce. Yellow/white lettuce so not even super fresh. But also, who wants lettuce in their rolls?!??Delivery services seem highly prized and prioritized over regular customers like me who call in their own order and actually go and pick it up themselves. Host taking my order told me “15 minutes.” I arrived exactly on time, my payment was immediately taken, AND THEN I was told it would be “a few more minutes.” A delivery driver came and got their (small) order in that time. When they finally acknowledged my presence again, I told the host that I wasn’t pleased with having to wait after I arrived on time and she said, “oh there was a large order ahead of you.” I tried to tell her that in that case she should have told me over the phone that it would take longer, but she walked away and let the door close on me before I was able to respond. So when she came back, I made that complaint and do you think she acknowledged it and offered a quick sorry? Nope, instead she insisted, “I said ABOUT 15 minutes,” which was a lie to defend herself. But more helpful would have been to just say sorry for the inconvenience. Instead they lost a costumer, and hopefully some of the rest of you who don’t want a poor/rude service experience.

Not what they used to be maybe they lost the original cook or cheaper imitation ingredients but they are definitely hurting my Teriyaki Shrimp stirfry came dry with a side of sauce (gook that had thicken while sitting) I guess Im supposed to finish stirfrying it myself. The tuna roll mush everything everywhere is different. Ugh!

Ordered from here through DoorDash and it was really good! Got miso soup and salmon avocado cucumber rolls. The miso soup was a tad salty but the rolls were great. Overall really delicious and will order or go here again.

Great staff they are super attentive! The food is ok, a lot of it has great flavor but some of the more seafood seafood things I. The buffet was a little lacking. All the chicken and beef dishes were flavorful and tender though. Sushi is great a small selection but great. Over all a wonderful dining experience!
