Ive been thinking about my experience at this restaurant since I visited yesterday. I have been stopping in this business everytime I have an Office visit at GW. The ladies there who make the sandwiches have been cool not overly friendly but cool and just professional but but very unfriendly. Let me say I am an African American Woman, now a senior with cane. I offer no hostility and often spend over $20 there. But yesterday the ladies were not friendly, and i brought for the first Time, my young African Aide who is quiet and doesnt go to restaurants like that. I was treating her. So i wanted tuna and didnt see it on the menu. The lady said something but i didn’t understand her still looking tuna sandwich has a weird name that has nothing to do with tuna. But it seemed she had more of an attitude because I kept asking her what she was saying. Tobacco something. Who would think that was tuna??. Then watching her make the sandwich with attitude. Then she didnt ask what i wanted on it. She was closing it without lettuce. I asked for lettuce she threw a whole leaf on itI asked if she could cut it up. (I have problems chewing) she didnt want to and hastily cut it. Then i paid $23! And left. I wanted to tell the young lady every business i go to doesnt act that way. She could feel the tension of all of the people staring at us as if all the sudden we both were from another world. I am more of an American than anyone there and Im a decendant of George Washington so I am many generations American! So know I will not be coming back to your restaurant whn I have my doctors appts any longer. You showed who you are and I got the message! I will no longer spend my hard earned money there!

BLT bagel was incredible. Travelled from NY and better than any bagel I had there. Service was also really efficient and friendly.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast while in town for a work meeting. Great location. Handy to the Melrose Georgetown Hotel. Staff was helpful and efficient.

I came to get some breakfast while waiting for a family member to get done surgery at GW Hospital. It is about an 8 minute walk from the hospital.Bacon egg and cheese on a bagel sandwich was actually pretty good. There could’ve been more meat however it was really inexpensive which made it worth what I paid for. There are a few tables inside and some outside as well.Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, good, and inexpensive breakfast sandwich.

This is a great place to go for a reasonably priced breakfast. Omelette and egg sandwiches are made to order right in front of you. My wife and I had breakfast the morning before at our hotel. It was $56. We had oatmeal and yogurt with some fruit and coffee. I think our breakfast was right around $16 at the Uptowner for the omelette and egg sandwich.

Convenient little deli in the West End. The prices are reasonable for this part of town for a quick and tasty breakfast and lunch. Love the fact they carry refrigerated Just Ice Peach Oolong tea. The cashiers are helpful too!

Great and family friendly place for breakfast as well as sandwiches all day long. We stayed at Fairmont hotel and walk down here every morning for breakfast and loved it. Great sandwiches, bagels just as should be. Made to order right in front of you, reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Thank you guys for taking care of us

This was my favorite lunch deli across the street from my work for many years. They overcharged me $168.90 for a $16.89 lunch in May.When I went back last week, then came back today to follow up on the displayed charge on my statement, the owner at first said he could not locate the charge (I had given him the date, my card info, and showed him his business name on my card statement). The owner suggested I must have paid for a group or friends (No.) or it was a catering order (No.) --- I suggest we both would have remembered an order of 17-18 Uptowner sandwiches on a single order one afternoon in May a few weeks agoThen he asked if I would like free drinks on my next nine lunch orders (No, REALLY!??)I called my credit card issuer when I got back to work, and they reversed the charge of $152.01 which is the difference between what I probably should have been charged and what was actually placed on my credit card. (I don't begrudge paying for what I ordered, but not for the price that was taken.) - Ugh!I hate to never-go-back because the sandwiches are awesome and the staff is great, but this was just a very very poor business decision, especially after I have been buying breakfasts lunches, and more here at least 2x per week for the past four years, including all through the pandemic. My bill here has never been more than $20-25. It was embarassing to listen to an offer of free drinks with my upcoming purchases, and also insulting. This shop does a very handsome business and there is always a line, so maybe I will simply be replaced by the next customer of many whom they serve.Too bad, really. This made me pretty sad that they were so callous over what was probably just an honest mistake on their part.I believe I was very low key and kind and offered my understanding about the mistake. To be offered some free drinks at their retail price to make up for it tho? - No way. :(Sigh... One very loyal customer lost for good

Great little place, cheap, good and fast. While traveling in DC it's tough to find anything closer to reasonable. Week this one does it, two for breakfast with coffee and tip less than$20.00 bucks. Simple but tasty! You order at the counter, get your food and find a seat so service and ambiance really don't apply. However it was very clean.

Good food - fair prices - fast serviceExcellent alternative for overpriced hotel breakfasts in the Georgetown area.
