All around terrible food. Utterly flavorless, completely devoid of spices or seasoning. The dumplings taste worse than the frozen ones from a grocery store. The broth is fatty and gross. Very unpleasant experience all around. Will not return.

Way too expensive for the pork burger and dim sum
I ordered the chicken stir fry noodles. The food was solid, however not worth $16.

I got a wrong milk tea and could not get a refund. The waiting time was longer than expected.

We went there to get some drinks. My daughters ordered two hot drinks. The service was slow because the person doing the drinks were being trained by another employee. The drinks took a long time, but we probably would be ok with that, we were not in a rush at the time. The issue for us was when we saw the trainer and trainee seem to be fine with using plastic measuring cup for the milk steamer, instead of using metal mugs/cup for steaming the milk. I have rarely wrote bad review on boba place, but we felt that this is bad and wouldn't recommend this. We typically like Gong Cha, but would definitely not return to this location.
The noodles taste a bit like flour, but the soup is still spicy.

We walked in at 9:40 for a boba tea when they close at 10pm and were refused service. They stated they weren’t open even though there were customers sitting at the table. They had just started cleaning up and didn’t want to serve someone else. Kind of crazy for a drink spot to pre-close that early as it’s not as complex or time consuming as food prep.

I had honestly almost entirely lost hope in finding good, authentic, and affordable Asian food in Chinatown until I randomly stumbled upon Wasai. It, admittedly, doesn’t look like much at first glance — the decor is pretty utilitarian, the menu is pretty simple, and they share their space with a Gong Cha. However, the simplicity of their menu and decor is what makes Wasai shine — they do one thing (okay maybe two things), and they do those things incredibly well.
My friend and I dropped by Wasai after wandering around the National Mall until the mid / late afternoon on Saturday. We, of course, did not plan ahead and were absolutely starving by the time we made it to Chinatown. We had only moderate expectations for Wasai (for all the reasons above), but they absolutely blew us out of the water. We each got one of their noodle soups — my friend got their beef, and I opted for their seafood. The noodles were absolutely perfect; they were springy, but not too springy…chewy, yet not too chewy…and doughy while not being too doughy. The texture was absolutely spot on, and these delightful hand-pulled noodles were the perfect vessel for the rich beef / seafood broth. My friend’s soup came with a generous helping of beef, and mine had a great bit of mixed seafood. I did think the veggies were a bit lacking, as one sprig of bok choy and two slices of radish aren’t quite enough vitamins to keep my doctor happy, but the bowls were otherwise phenomenal.
And, lest you think that it was just our post-walk hunger that made us fall in love with Wasai, we’ve both separately been back there multiple times and have continued to feel the same way each time. I’ve even ordered it for delivery a few times and it’s still fantastic, although I will say that you do lose a bit of the noodle’s springy goodness in the transit time.

Ordered 2 beef noodle soup with a pork burger. Mine is hand shaved and my wife's thin noodle. Loved the noodle and it reminds me of Xi'an famous noodle at NYC which is awesome. I like the texture of the noodle so much. Both
Pork burger was not great so wouldn't order again. Pretty plain and unremarkable

They don’t service after 10:10 and they close at 10:30
It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. The food looked quite different from the pictures on the menu. While the noodles tasted good, the meat was disappointing—tough and full of nerves and veins
