“When you think of a speakeasy… this place looks like what comes to mind. Down a flight of stairs leading to oversized doors you find yourself stepping back in time and greeted by a skilled bartender sporting a handlebar mustache. Great for an after dinner drink or to just hang out with friends.“

“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“Well done Logan Tavern! This past weekend you hosted us for a dinner that was part of a weekend-long celebration of our mother/aunt/grandmother/friend. Our gang (30 people) loved the space you gave us and the food was delicious. The brisket and the Mac and cheese were particularly good. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the burgers. I would definitely recommend swinging by the Tavern!“

“I recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends for their Christmas pop-up bar. We arrived around midnight on a Tuesday night, and despite it being late, the place was actually quite crowded. Although they didn't have food, they did have an impressive selection of Christmas-themed Tiki drinks.
My friend found the drinks to be a bit too bitter, but I actually really enjoyed them. The presentation was fantastic, and the overall atmosphere was festive and joyful. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, making sure we had a great experience.
Even though this was a pop-up bar and didn't offer food, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate the holiday season in a fun and unique way. The drinks and atmosphere were both top-notch, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.“
